After noticing a surprising $69 charge to my bank account I immediately called Rapid Reading to find out what was going on. I was placed on hold for about 20 minutes. I got "Stephanie"  from the customer service department. She told me I couldn't get an RMA number to return the item because it was past the 15 day trial. I still wanted to cancel but she said "I'm sorry, since we're just a distributor we already paid Photo Reading for the product so if we try to take it back it'll look like we're trying to double the profit." I'm not sure what that means or what kind of contract/agreement they worked out with Photo Reading but it seems that they didn't deliberate heavily on returns and cancellations.

My solution: I will go to my bank, fill out a "Regulation E Form" to try to get my money back and then Change my debit card. Just like I did with SMC, I got my money back and got a new card, a clean slate made simple!

As I am reading your story.  A few things come to mind.  Most companies promising things that appear to be to good to be true are.  Always research companies before giving them your credit card or debit card.  Never use a debit card to purchase things online or pay for things.  Use a standard credit card.  I understand not everyone has a credit card.  However a debit card cannot be refunded nearly as quick and also if you loose grocery money its more important then loosing available money on a credit card.  I really felt for you when reading this story.  And agreed going thru the bank doing a charge back is your best bet.  Also getting a new card is a mandatory thing when this occurs.  However as I read the end of your story stating you went thru something like this with smc It occured me to you should have learned the lesson the first time.  Do not give your credit card or debit card information out to random companies online.
