I want to make a firm warning to anyone interested in both getting services from this company as well as anyone considering working for them, to say that they are very greedy, dishonest, incompetent and careless towards their employees and customers. I say this not from the perspective of a customer, but as a former employee who worked there about 3 months.

Let me explain what this company does. They take misdialed phone calls from Dish Network and Cox Cable customers and try to sell them DirecTV. They essentially do this by lying to a customer for the first few minutes of every single conversation, pretending to be a Dish Network rep when they in fact are a DirecTV retailer. Of course, they eventually tell the people on the phone, but they still give them a complete charade from the very start, so you are not exactly dealing with honest people right from the beginning.

So to any Dish Network customers, if you call Dish Network and somehow end up talking to one of these assholes, HANG UP YOUR PHONE. NOW. You do not want to work with these people. Their customer service is understaffed and underpaid and their management is incompetent and cannot keep up with production standards for most DirecTV retailers. I happen to know this is a fact as they failed to meet their quota for last month, October 09, as of writing this in November.

But seriously, these people are idiots. There are probably about ten total customer service reps in the entire company servicing hundreds of customers. Obviously every single person who calls in has to deal with a massive pile of bullshit just to talk to someone who has enough authority to solve a problem after waiting on hold for 30 minutes and being transferred to 8 or 9 different people. But what kind of management leaves customer service so understaffed and then yells at people when we are behind production? Maybe if the cancellation rate was somewhere below 20 percent, you idiots wouldn't have this problem. Try an honest business policy and real effort in customer service, any maybe you won't end up in financial trouble.

As far as employment, Dish1Up is terrible as well. If you put in an application, take the job and immediately start looking for a new job. They will screw you. Hard. These money grubbing pieces of shit took hours out of my paychecks every other week just to make sure they didn't pay me that much. Make copies of your time charts and file a pay dispute every time it happens, and trust me, it will happen, and Alicia Hickory will pretend it was an accident, as will Frank Essa. I guarantee you it's not. Hours don't just disappear from someone's pay check. A computer processes them automatically, and it takes a human being to remove them from the system. So be sure to make someone's day a nightmare if this happens to you.

This place has the highest turnover rate and the highest cancellation rate of any company I've ever worked for. Every month there is a new sales floor with totally new reps because they continue to fire people, I think half the time just to avoid paying them benefits. If you think I'm lying, it might interest a potential employee to know that I was fired right at the 90 day mark, to help insure that I cannot get benefits nor can I file unemployment. The money grubbing pieces of shit got me again.

So, with at least 80 dollars stolen out of my most recent paycheck by Alicia Hickory or whoever the hell it was that took out my hours, no ability to file unemployment while I look for another job, and a whole lot of wasted time and energy on a company that will most likely be bankrupt in a few years, I think it's safe to say that this company was a thorough and unrelenting waste of my time, and yours too if you get involved with them as either an employee or a customer. Stay away, if you know what's good for you.
