Seller placed ad on Craigslist for purchase of vehicle. Then wanted payment through moneygram for a vehicle and said he was part of the Ebay Buyer Protection Program. He requested my name, address, phone number so that ebay could contact me. They requested payment through MONEYGRAM and not PAYPAL. The true Ebay warns against payment through this method.

The Seller will email you and give you a story that he is going into military or something and needs to sell quickly, he gives you an ebay email address and an ebay agent to send the money to and it is NOT legitimate. They have no contact phone numbers, the true ebay does not know anything about them and their emails appear very legitimate.

I was fooled as this is the craigslist add i responded to and response i received "The bike is in perfect condition and runs great, accident free, no scratches, no need for additional repairs, it is like new with only 1,090 miles and still under warranty. the reason i am selling it is because i am in the military and my unit will be sent back to Iraq for one last mission and i don't want the bike to get old sitting in my garage. i am selling it so low because i need to sell it before March 15th.

the price that i hope to obtain for it is $3,000. i am the first and legal owner and have the clear title in hand. i already have tons of emails so i hope you understand i need to sort them out and i hope you won't make me lose time as it has already happend to me. if you are still interested email me back". We emailed back and forth (all of which i printed just in case) and he guaranteed i would receive the bike aka motorcycle, ebay would hold on to the money for three days until i decided i liked the bike and then they would push the payment through to him.

I got three mails with the ebay logo confirming the purchase and even got an invoice with the sellers name and address and instructions on how to pay to an ebay agent. It all seemed so legit as i was guaranteed 100% satisfaction or my money back no questions asked and he would eat the shipping costs himself. He even had a website up (((link redacted))) with pics of the bike. He even sent me the confirmation he got from ebay that the money went through to them. I have not heard from this guy since and it has been over a week.

DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM THESE PEOPLE. If they cannot accept payment through PAYPAL they are ripping you off and don't have anything to do with ebay. Be warned.
My Sellers name was Ryan Dunn and his agent name was Michael Taylor. THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM. Please don't be duped. If it is not on ebay and you cannot pay with paypal then it just is not worth it! If it sounds too good to be true, IT IS!!!! Thanks
