I am sorry you had such a horrible experience.
Please know that if you're not with Gexa anymore, it is possible that they may not be able to authorize a disconnect unless your current retail provider also agrees.
Look into it and check with whoever your current provider is. I strongly suspect that Gexa's "disconnect" notices now might be empty threats.
I also had a horrible experience with Gexa, as a result of their aggressive price increases this past year.
But the contract says they can, right? So we were suckers, right, nothing we can do, right?
No. I figured something out. They messed up--got a bit too greedy.
I'm not only an affected customer. I'm also a lawyer. They might be liable in a statewide class action. Please contact me if you have any interest in getting involved--especially in you know of others who signed up for variable-rate plans back a few years ago. gexacase@yahoo.com
