I’m so frustrated with STS and their archaic billing practices that just invite late payments, missed payments and resulting late fees and disconnections.
They know that you have no choice in water providers and so don’t have a reason to provide services such as online billing, automatic billing or balanced billing.
I understand that at the end of the day it’s up to me to keep an eye on my bills and ensure that things get paid in a timely manner. However, in the current financial climate I feel that it is their duty to help customers help themselves.
I recently missed a payment... totally my fault! I had 40 other bills last month which I had to juggle like most other folk do. My water bill fell through the cracks and all of a sudden I get a call from my wife to say that the water is off.
Previous times when I had been behind I would get a red notice on my door to say that I better get my finger out or services would be interrupted. That’s great.... gives me time to get the payment made and avoid the hefty reconnect fees.
This time was different. No notice. No red flag. Just no water. Oh… and an extra $160 in fees. What a jip!
I get it STS. You did your due diligence. Your paperwork shows that you posted a notice (yeah right…It just got up and flew away!). It’s up to me to pay my bills on time.
That’s fine I’ll take it tight one more time. Just do everyone a favor and update your billing practices so that we can all get a fair shake. That is unless you like cutting people off. At $160 a pop I could understand why.
Get it done now or I’ll …. I’ll… oh yeah…. I’ll do nothing... because you’re the only game in town. Sucks for me!
