This is an alert to both vending machine owners and location companies regarding a vending route locator by the name of Kyle Parks, aka Columbus Locators of Ohio; a one-man operation. He gets bad locations and lies about the number of customers entering the business on a daily basis. If the business has already has machines, Parks may tell you those machines are going to be removed and replaced with yours. Don’t believe him.
He will tell you that these are great locations but - that if they don’t work out after 30 days - he will replace them. Don’t believe him. He is known to intimidate clients into taking the locations, even when it is obvious they don’t have enough employees or customers to make it profitable for you.
Do no allow him to deliver your machines to the locations; you may not be able to find them. He has also been known to place equipment in business locations without manager/owner permission.
A partial listing of my experiences with Kyle Parks include: Raleigh, NC - placed a machine in a location that customer had refused. New Haven, CT - Customer was not able to place any of the machines in any of the locations that Parks gave him because Parks had not obtained the proper permission. Cleveland, OH - placed machines in locations that customer had refused. Lynchburg, VA - all locations were bad, customer complained that one location had only 2 employees and no customers, one location had no plug available to hook up the machine, at another location, the equipment could only go outside (this machine was not capable of being placed outside and Parks knew this). Chesapeake, VA - Parks provided no locations, took the client’s money and left the area. Customer is taking Parks to court. Palmyra, VA - all bad locations, damaged the machines, took the money and never completed the job. Mansfield, TX - at 5 of 8 locations, Parks had not obtained permission from the correct person, location refused to accept the machines, but Kyle still took the client’s money, then refused to replace those locations. Cincinnati, OH - told the customer, “These are good locations, trust me. If they aren’t doing anything after 30 days, I’ll replace them.” Now he won’t even accept the customer’s call. When I attempted to get Parks to honor his obligations, he retorted with personal threats. Avoid Kyle Parks at all costs.
