VPI would not pay their portion of insurance even after I had the Veterinarian confirm, verify and send a medical history that my dog did not have a pre-existing condition. Their reason was that I took my dog in as soon as she was insured. After requesting a refund and canceling my insurance policy (since they weren't paying their portion, they would not give me a refund). The person I spoke to was very rude and even suggested that there were many people who fraudulently make claims even when their pets already have a pre-existing condition (insinuating that I was doing the same). This is a very bad company to deal with. It is better not to have insurance than to pay several hundred dollars for nothing.
