We took our dog to be tested. Elizabeth Long was nowhere to be found. A lady with Sunglasses and electric hair job told us she was a tech and was studying to be a vet. She took out information and made us pay two hundred dollars cash deposit. We left the dog for testing--only. Every few hours we tried to reach Dr. Long. She never came to the phone and never answered our call. We went to the "clinic" the next morning. Our yellow lab had was laying on the counter with her head hung over the side drooling. Another lady said that Elizabeth Long was too busy to talk to us but that the dog needed to go to a specialist. There were some in a nearby city. The additional bill came to $450.00.

We took the animal to the emergency clinic where it stayed the weekend. On Monday the Emergency vet said that she had never seen such neglect and suggested that we report it to the licensing board--we have.

The emergency vet referred us to a clinic nearby. It has taken work but the dog is ok now. The doctors at the new clinic say that Elizabeth Long has fights going with a good many people.

Lesson: Call the emergency clinics in your area for a referral if you are new to town like us.

Ulterior motive?

AUTHOR: Camperg - Spring Branch (U.S.A.)

Good morning and my sympathies to you and your ailing dog. I came across your report and couldn't help but wonder if you had an ulterior motive for posting this report because it comes across as made up. It's missing important facts like what test was your dog being tested for? And if it stayed overnight, you failed to mention that you brought in an already sick dog needing hospitalization, which is pretty different. And the only emergency clinic I find in the New Braunfels area is closed on Mondays.

I've enjoyed the companionship of dogs for many many years and have taken my four-legged patients to many clinics in the area as I've moved about and I have to point out that not a one from Spring Branch to Seguin sounds anything like what you described. Central Texas has outstanding veterinarians and I'm heartbroken for each and every one of them to find what appears to be made up slander against one of them.

Please, for anyone reading, don't use these forums to pass the time creating fictional horror-stricken accounts. It's not helpful to other pet owners. Just the facts, please.

excuse you

AUTHOR: Ravenslvr - Grand Prairie (U.S.A.)

to the previous poster, not author, who are you to say she made it up. there was a vet in grand prairie, doc Wilson that it was a guarantee your pet would die even if it was only getting a sh*t. i never took an animal to him, for an reason, and it live for more than 1 month. now the office is run by a great doctor that is there for you all the way. doc shield is the best vet ever. but there are plenty of old school vets that use ether to anesthetize he animals. just because your pimpin the vet vibe doesnt mean there arent any screwin up

I suggest Raven learn how to spell

AUTHOR: Stacey - Dallas (U.S.A.)

Who cares what vet you thought was ill informed?? How can you afford to have a pet when you have a child, no job and no insurance?? Yes I read your idiot posts regarding the Parks Mall in Arlington and Jim Adler - Anyone fool enough to ask Adler to be your attorney gets what they deserve
