Animal Clinic of Edgewater (its correct name) has taken care of my animals for years. The owner, Dr. Kim Castro, has been our vet since coming to this clinic and for 10 years prior to being at this clinic. She has always been professional, taken time to talk with me about my animals and concerns, has NEVER misdiagnosed anything. We have a small farm and have had several dogs and cats as well as misc other animals over the years. Her prices are very reasonable and I drive 45 minutes just to take my animals to her. Her passion and commitment is incredible. She hurts as bad as the owner when an animal dies (I know personally) and has done extraordinary things - even when we could not pay - to try and save an animal. I am sorry this person had a bad experience but based on other client's comments, what I see happening when I am in the office and my own experience I would strongly disagree with this unfair characterization. What this person did is give an "on line" review not a factual "rip off" story. This website should be concerned with facts and actual events that can be demonstrated and proven - in more than one case - as well. Not opinions. I can show receipts, dates, and acutal facts to back up my statements.
After reading "Lee's" assessment of the Animal Clinic of Edgewater, I feel compelled to reply. As an employee of the clinic, I not only take it as a personal affront to be characterized as unprofessional, I take exception to the entire staff being labeled as such.
It is unfortunate that this person believes that they were mistreated. These are serious allegations and questions arise from them. Were the Doctors given permission to do the necessary testing to enable them to diagnose the problem? Pet owners are the spokespeople for their animals and they are ultimately responsible for allowing treatment for them.
Were these accusations presented to the staff and Doctors at the clinic at the time of service so that they could be addressed appropriately?
I will agree that we do make many appointments. We have a large client base, as well as welcoming new clients daily. Unfortunately, there are a lot of animals out there that need our help and we try to get them in as soon as possible. We also take in emergencies that require immediate, critical care and, depending on the severity of the situation, our appointment schedule is sometimes interrupted. All of our patients are important to us and the entire staff jumps in to assist in these situations.
While I would welcome the opportunity to dispute the allegations line by line, this is not the forum in which to do so. I would 'implore' this person to contact our office to discuss their concerns.
I think I can speak for the entire staff at the Animal Clinic of Edgewater by saying that we care deeply for all of our patients and we hurt when they hurt.
