Two years ago I bought an insurance for appliances and systems from TotalProtect. For two years I paid $34.95 monthly. When I sold my house, the home inspector ordered the heater to be replaced. I called TotalProtect, and they asked me to get a licensed company to do the work. I did so, and I paid from my pocket $1,500.
Since January 2007 I have been trying to get TotalProtect to reimburse me, but they always come up with a new request. The company that performed the work has sent TotalProtect seven diferent reports (serial #, model #, brand, tonnage, seer, cause of failure) but they are never satisfied. I found on line that a lot of people who bought an insurance from this same company have experienced the same problem.
