I hired CherryOne to host and program my business' website back in Oct 08. I had many service type of issues in the beginning and very poor attitude/getting back to me about stuff but I chalked it up to them being busy...after all I heard they were pretty good. Boy was I wrong!

They took MONTHS longer to complete my project than what was in the contract, they tried several times to EXTORT more money out of me but thankfully I was smart enough to have read and understood my contract so I did not allow them to do that. Around every corner there was a new Cherry One issue/scam going on.

The latest issue that I have is just downright ILLEGAL. I authorized them to bill my CC every month for my hosting fees ($35/month) but they decided last month to bill me (in addition to the hosting fee) another $80!! So, I called and emailed them about it...was ignored for about a week (this is VERY VERY common with Cherry One). Finally I get this canned response that basically says they decided to upgrade their servers and the customers were charged as a "pass through" fee. My contract CLEARLY STATES that they are not allowed to do this.

I approached them about Cherry One Web Design's CLEAR BREACH OF CONTRACT and they again ignored me for another week or so. I disputed the charge with my credit card company so they will not be STEALING from me anymore... In fact, it wasnt until I told them I am done and will be cancelling my contract early because I am done dealing with CherryOne's UNPROFESSIONAL, CHILDISH, AND DOWNRIGHT ILLEGAL that they actually responded! They would prefer people just cancel than play by the rules.

The Illinois Attorney General needs to shut these idiots down... I hope that customers wise up and DONT CHOOSE CHERRY ONE WEB DESIGN WHATEVER YOU DO!! You will be in for more than you bargained for.

Cherry One, CherryOne, Cherry One Web Design, CherryOne Web Design...whatever they go by are running a SCAM...please please STAY AWAY!

This is all very odd and is prob. going to sound very weird but this situation above is quite similar to what happened to me yet I did not author it. Ripoff Report wont seem to remove it so I wanted to sort of give my "update" if this was somehow a manufactured version of my story that someone else posted. It seems that someone got hold of my email/pw because I actually able to log in...(but I will be investigating that further and of course changing my info) Plus its only fair to CO that the whole story get explained (although id love to know who did this...but anyway...)

The whole cc billing thing was a misunderstanding of sorts and CherryOne did sort it out and credited me back the money they owed me. I am in the midst of parting ways with them but they were helpful in getting me the files I needed to move to a different hosting site. They actually got me the files super fast which was great.

There are some great people there who will really be helpful (i dont know if i can put names...) you just have to know who to ask sometimes.

All in all my actual site that they programmed was great and frankly worked great so I cant complain there. They have some talented programmers there... They also have come cool features that they offer like SEO programs which I personally didnt get a chance to use but hear work well as well as some neat features that can be intergrated into the site.

The above post is harsh to say the least but I will say that they arent running a scam at all...I think sometimes people maybe get confused about what is going on or what they are getting billed for which is what happened to me. I would certainly have them reprogram my site if I had to...they really did a good job.

I also wanted to say that they are a very very busy company so sometimes it may feel like you dont get an immediate response but they do get back pretty quickly.
