The ex-employee mentions that godaddy would not risk millions with such activities but the fact is that maybe that is how it gets it's millions to begin with. Shoddy practices appear to be how they do things after having been a customer of their long enough to start getting a clear picture.
I thought I was going nuts because almost every time I go to register a domain on godaddy, it's always a nightmare. It is a very rare time that I am able to get the domains I would like to get. Everything I come up with is gone but strangely, almost all of them, a very large percent at least, are parked domains.
I believed it was simply the nature of domain squatting until I started to notice something.
Yesterday, (Mar/3/2010) I had found what I felt might be a useful enough name on godaddy. I didn't get the chance to register it because I didn't really 'love' it, it's just all I could find at that point. When I headed back to register it today, godigits.com is now a $2500.00 premium domain being sold by godaddy.
This isn't a conspiracy theory, this is nonsense that really is happening. I had seen it before, many times, I simply didn't want to believe that my own registrar might be trying to take advantage of me but now I do believe this.
These companies are being trusted to handle domain names and information for the public, Internet users. They have no right to manipulate information in this way and EVERYONE should start filing complaints with the proper Internet authorities.
Perhaps (((Redacted)))
I would suggest that people post the best places to file such complaints and to start letting others know about this nonsense. These companies are being entrusted with our information.
We are putting trust in them to handle our domains which equate to our individual presence on the Internet. Companies which adopt these practices should NOT be trusted with your valuable registration needs when they are acting in these ways.
