I was hired by Andy Stephens on August 13th of this year and I was told that I would be paid $20 an hour for web design work. He sent me a contract about 12 hours later and I started working for him that Monday. I got a lot of IM's and emails from him at first and he sent me a few jobs to do that first week. The next week, I didn't hear from him at all and it made me very suspicious of him. Finally, he contacted me and said that he was out of town. And, he gave me another project to complete. I worked on that project and then it was time for me to be paid. He said in the contract that I would be paid bi-weekly and it would be deposited in my account. On that Thursday, before payday I asked him to send me a time sheet and it never arrived so I sent him a statement with the hours that I worked and I waited for a check. It never came, I tried contacting him and I couldn't get in touch with him then all of a sudden he contacted me and said it was in the mail.  

I continued to do other projects while I waited and soon it was payday again. I continued to email him and tell him I had not received a paycheck and he kept saying that it was mailed out. I then asked him to send me both paychecks next day mail with a tracking number and he said that he would but again I never received a check. Right now, Andy Stephens owes me $1650 and because I had been unemployed for a while I was really counting on this money to pay bills and get caught up. When I didn't get the money, I ended up getting evicted from my home, losing my car and selling everything I had to get me and my kids back to my home town. This incident has really had a negative impact on my life. I hope that he is caught and prosecuted for what he has done to me. I am also contacting the Secretary of State for California and the Attorney General and let them know of this incidence.
