LA Weight Loss Center ripoff CLOSED Without Warning shut down with no warning Henderson Nevada

It was very shocking to learn on the news that the LA Weight Loss Centers in the Las Vegas, NV area had been closed on Thursday, August 9, 2007 with no warning to any of its customers.

I have prepaid for the LA Lite bars for the weight loss plan and have not received them. I have also been contracted to receive a rebate of 1/4 of the cost of the program if I had maintained my weight loss during the first 26 weeks of Maintenance. I had filed for the rebate on March 23, 2007 and the counselors at the Center have been sending numerous duplicate paperwork to the LA Weight Loss Corporate Office because they said that the information was not complete, or they did not receive it, or the checks will be sent out by a company that was subcontracted by them. I was informed that originally it would take 8 to 10 weeks to receive the check. After 3 months, the Center starting contacting the LA Weight Loss Corporate Office and have been given the run around.

I only had 10 weeks remaining on my second half of the year to receive an additional 1/4 of the cost of program.

This is not a very professional way to operate a business, and the franchise owners should not get away with just walking away from their problem; created by their opening too many Centers in such a small area and not being able to provide for the people with whom they have a contract. Something should be done.
