LA Weight Loss - Wilmington Closed doors without notice or refunds, and threw client health files in dumpster Wilmington North Carolina

As a client of LA Weight Loss Centers, I paid a lump sum of several hundred dollars for weeks of weight loss counseling, and also paid money for products (shakes and snack bars) to be picked up at a later date. Without any notice from counselors I visited on a weekly basis, I arrived to the weight loss center to find the doors were locked and a sign on the door read "closed for good."

There was no information about a refund for services not used, or goods not collected.

To add insult to injury, the local news organization did a story on this - and found that files containing our personal health information had been dumped in the trash.

These files included information about our health conditions, blood pressure, blood type, and weight/height.

Although I have contacted LA Weight Loss corporate, they have claimed no responsibilitiy for this locations - bearing their name, logo, and selling their products. They have indicated that this location was owned by a franchise which went "belly up" and they could not honor the sales made from that location.

What a RIP OFF!

Now I am out almost $500.00, and have not lost a single pound.
