I signed up for this program a few years ago as it seemed so appealing and successful. I tried many fad diets but was interested in the lifestyle changes. I followed the program and was successful at losing weight, but then I noticed I got sick into the program. I put the program on hold because I was going to school and working and it was difficult for me to make the hours to the counseling sessions and the costs of the products were exceeding although I had purchased a large portion up front and never received the entirity of my package.
In August 2009 it was discovered that I have a brain tumor. I'm not saying that the product caused the cancer, but I do find it to be an interesting coincidence. I attempted to contact the company that distributes the products now because I never got reimbursement for what I already purchased and was consistently told that they have no "affiliation" to L.A. Weight Loss....I find this amusing because I was not talking about the center itself, but the products, which I had already paid for...
I would highly recommend anyone avoid these products if at all possible. They teach lifestyle changes and portion control, which can be accomplished naturally and by choice. You don't need the additional products that they provide which likely can make things worse. I was considered healthy by doctors before I began the program and now my life expectancy has been cut drastically short. Life's too short to try to follow some program that charges people to lose weight to be seen as "healthy." Each one of us can do it on our own by not buying into the system that continues to make people sick and then turn to them for help. I will be fighting for my life now rather than fighting to lose weight.
