what kaplan university did I went there for three months and had family problem my grandfather died when I was in school which forced me to leave and now I owe 8,000. I refuse to pay this amount of money when my entire loan was 8,000 for two years.

 If you got a loan through Sallie Mae, then not paying will not be an option.

Student loans will always have to be paid back and cannot be discharge in BK.

If you let this loan default, the amount can explode out of control and soon it will be $16K.
