SMC Corp Beware! Be careful! Simi Valley California

I have been with this company, off and on, since 1999. I let my membership expire a year ago and I thought about renewing it this year. I just got off the phone with their customer service reps and I echo a lot of what everyone has stated so far in these reports.

I wanted to know if my membership number was still valid. I gave them my information and they still had it in their database. The pushy part came when I was given the figures for renewing my membership. The rep kept trying to talk me into paying the initial fee, then make monthly payments. Instead of letting me decide for myself, he kept pushing me. I was really maintaing my cool until he said to me "What are you afraid of?" At that point, I just hung up the phone. No one talks to me that way. This is my money and my decision.

Shortly after that, I Googled SMC and found this information on the web. I had no idea so many other people had as many problems as I did. I did not sell one item, except on the Internet, and I still have items that came with one of my membership kits. I can't get rid of them. I have some of them posted on eBay.

Somehow, this company is successful because it is still in business, and somewhere, somehow, people are making money from it. However, I agree with everyone else who has had problems with this company that they are not reputable. Buyer beware, because you have to make some serious sales to make money, and I don't know how you sell this merchandise, because most of it is nothing more than dust collectors.

The only interesting note about this company is that they used to advertise in Entrepreneur Magazine. I have not seen them advertising there lately. I would hope that Entrepreneur carefully researches the businesses that choose to advertise with them. Many people would like to start their own businesses, make some money, and be there own bosses. SMC is not one of those businesses, as far as I am concerned.
