ICS Merrill - EMSI Management Services Beware of IcsMerrill Jacksonville, Florida

I was hired by Ics Merrill in November 2008 for a full time investigative position. I think I received 40 hours maybe 4 times. The company put me and my family in a bad financial situation. I was losing everything and fast. I went to my case manager in April 2009 and asked if they had work in the Arizona area and If I could possibly relocate. I then explained to him my situation and that I had no choice but to live with family in Arizona. He then replied by saying no problem. That he would put me in touch with the case manager in Arizona when I get there. He said that another investigator just did the same thing. I then started preparing for the move to go accross country. I sold almost everything I owned and the stuff I couldn't sell I gave away. That case manger was then transferred to another department and they hired someone else for my region. I then went to him and told him my plans and the conversation me and my last case manager had. He then stated it should be no problem. I didn't here anything after that for days. One day before I was leaving he sent me an email stating if I move, my position will be terminated. He also stated to check job postings in the Arizona area and that I was being terminated in good standing. I then asked if i could be laid off because of the lack of work and he said no. I had no choice but to move at that point. When I arrived in Arizona I had a phone conference. I explained to them what happened. They also encouraged me to keep looking for job postings. In July, a job became available in Arizona. I called whomever was in charge of the hiring process. She seemed very exited about bringing me back until she called someone in the office and they said I was not hireable. I was devastated. I was living with family, no job, and no medical insurance. I then apptemted to get government assistance for Cobra. The insurance company said I was not eligible because I quit voluntarily. That was so far from the truth. So after months of fighting with ICS they finally changed it to involuntary termination. They still won't do the right thing and lay me off but I'm done at this point. If this is how they want to conduct business that's on them. My message is before you except employment with ICS Merrill please think twice.
