Here is my story:

In June 9, 2007, I placed online service order called process-at-home from Angel Stevens and charge to my chase card as $197. 3 days later, I received a phone call from Dan Valadez and John Waddleworth, from affiliate company Success Training of process at home said I will be qualified for a leverage investment program about $6,000 to $10,000 that will make greater and faster profit by internet marketing e-commerce business. He asked me to cancel and ask refund for $197 from Angel Stevens Process-at-home. He is guaranteed for unlimited internet tech support and coaching through e-mails, online chat and/or phone coaching as long as I found it necessary. He introduced to me the Thrive Learning Institute, a powerful online learning class to help many of their members like me how to make profit in e-bay, dropshipping, etc. He also mentioned about a powerful website builder Lightwave Builder, a program designed to allow you the freedom to build and maintain your own web site simply and conveniently without requiring a technical background, they would be 'holding my hand all the way' even to the point of taking over my computer screen to show me first hand exactly what to do when necessary. There is just $39.95 monthly hosting fee charged to my Citicard on 6/17 (as Light Wave Web Builder). John guaranteed I won't lose a penny but start making money from web site to write off this investment payment of $9275 in first 90 days. I told him I don't have $9275 in cash to invest this training program and I don't have any credit card limit has this highest limit of $10,000, but He asked me to leverage other people's money (OPM) method which you invests in $6,000 to $10,000 money on your credit cards, you start making profit out of your investment and you became self-employed so you can report all of your expenses as 100% tax deductible. He asked me 2 credit cards to charge total of $9275 for this investment and I will complete a commitment letter write down why I choose internet business for financial freedom and what's my financial goals alone with online signed agreement submitted to his e-mail address. I was also told that I would be engaged in a 14 weeks intensive training program, followed by on going support for as long as I found it necessary. I received the e-mail confirmation at 6/13/08 subject line is Angel Stevens receipt and warranty of service, purchases order form: Angel Stevens PH - Thrive Learning Institute.

I received several introduction e-mails from Thrive Learning institute, thebizreview.com and lightwavebuilder.com on 6/16/08, which I don't know anything of their services or courses I was assigned for. The first introduction call was made 6/17/08, 6pm to 6:30pm with Cody Carrington from Thrive Learning Institute. He gave me how to login in the e-learning center and gave me study assignment listen to video library from the thriveli.com and he wants to schedule another call a week later to check out my progress. I asked him my concerns how dropshipping could easier making profit and why I was asked to open an E-bay account, pay-pal account in order to work for internet business. All he answered is you should learn how to do dropshipping at E-bay and then you can sell through E-bay after your web site ready. He asked me to look around my house to see what I did not want and could sell! I visit E-bay account for how to set up account and so on, but I decided not to open it right now because friends of mine told me it's difficult to sell on E-bay for profit.

The next step would be that they would build me a website, link me to a dropshipper, submit it to the search engines and generate a high search rating. Cody asked me to submit several business names to google.com and keyworddiscovery.com to generate a keyword route number below 5 million in google and below 100,000 in keyworddiscovery.com to determine what business name that I can use to set up my website. I found none of business name is within the route limit that people will search on-line.

I got my next schedule appointment at 6/24 but I postponed to 6/26, Cody is not answered my concerns, this call was last only 5 minutes. I wrote an e-mail to John Waddleworth on 6/27/08 request to cancel this service and ask for credit back of $9275 because I have not signed the online agreement, I don't believe I would get profit from internet business with poor coaching team not even answer my questions and concerns. I don't receive any phone call or e-mail back from John, so forwarded the e-mail to successtraining.bz customer care. The next day, customer care representative, Alex, called me to reply my request but his response was to start again or change direction, and to ignore my refund request. He admits it's harder to get a niche product to sell on internet now and most of their members are not selling their desire products at their first trail, so their successful comments on thriveli.com are not real. Alex told me I already passed 3 days of cancellation policy even though I have not formally start working with them yet and I have not signed the online agreement. I can't get the refund. Alex is guaranteed to re-connect with Thriveli.com get coach working on for web site set up and hopes to make some profit at least write off my investment.

I wrote the letter to my 2 credit card company for dispute my charges of $9275 in July, but recently I received a letter from one of credit card said they provided fax copy of "user agreement" on website hosting fee which I never go on their website to check "agreed" nor I have not log in yet. They laid to my credit card co. that I never contact them for the charge. I did request to cancel the website hosting fee on 8/27/08.

The reason I would like to dispute as (1) I did not receive the written information package as they promised. (2) I have not signed any final enrollment agreement with them to confirm this service and their service is scam. (3) Their online training services are not use friendly. (4) They broke their warranty and promise. Besides, the web builder has a note stated if you're not agreed to hosting agreement, you are unable to use the Lightwave Builder. Therefore, I shall not get charge of $39.95 website hosting fee as I don't use Lightwave Builder to create website.

Angel Stevens, John Waddleworth, Dan Valadez are all working with same company but under different company's name. I found lots of complaint report from Rip-offreport.com although the investment money is smaller than mine. I read some of reports said they provide poor web site set up assistant that even broke their guarantee promise.

I still receive Angel Stevens emails for her process-at-home on going training class, even I requested cancellation at 6/14/08 and the thriveli.com coach called my personal cell phone at 7/24 that I don't ever provide it to them. They are so dangerous.

9/24/08 I received a certified letter from "Erik Largin" director of operations for "the summit group, LLC" or Momentum Marketing Inc. said they want me to pay $4275 for total value of the products and services are used. According to above explanation, I only use two appointment time with Cody, total less than 60 minutes consulting service that cost $4275.

Their overhead letter contains various mailing addresses, phone numbers with different or same company names which makes consumer unable to contact them effectively.

This kind of company can easily ripoff poor Americans for a sound "e-commerce" business in this rough financial market. I really need some help (bilingual) for legal assistant because i'm currently off job market due to banking crisis. I'm willing to settle with this company and keep my good credit rating but not paying for $4275 on 2 times consulting services. I'm going to file a complaint on Utah consumer protection, thanks for Ripoff report on how to file a complaint to accessible channel.

SUMMIT/ANGEL STEVENS/THRIVE LEARNING/MEDIA LEARNER/MOA/PROSPER

AUTHOR: Nikkole - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 07, 2008

Summit/Thrive Learning/Angel Stevens/Media Learner/MOA/Prosper/Bright Builders - UT - these are all companies aiming to rip people off. You start off with what you think is simple rebate processing - then get countless calls from sales companies like Summit that work for Thrive and others to falsely promise you internet fortunes by presenting a bogus 'learning' system, which when the correct research is done, anyone can do without shelling out thousands of dollars to these 'learning' systems. These sales floors sell these 'coaching' companies where you receive advice from mostly young inexperienced individuals who have no knowledge of online success, but are trained to tell the client that they are very successful.

Angel Stevens does not even exist, the name of the presenter changes periodically. You should not have to pay upfront for any opportunity, period. The worst things is, these Utah based companies, lie and cheat their way into anyone who is willing to listen or has a bad day, and they make it so convincing that they offer a superior way for you to make hundreds of thousands of dollars. There is no miracle program out there that will make you rich overnight.

To add insult to injury, once you get hooked, you cannot cancel, they will make every attempt to stall until the 3 day limit, which they also do not tell you. When you attempt to cancel, you have the pleasure of dealing with inexperienced negotiators, such as Zach from Thrive or Alex from Summit. These have limit knowledge and will try to convince you that this is the only way to go.

This is the latest wave of Utah scams trickling throughout the US. If you want to be safe, stay away from any of these businesses.

The next contact was on June 26 2008. The notes for that call are as follows.

She is working on her niche market research. I asked her to do this with her ideas and get back with us.

We called and left 5 messages between the 26th of June 2008 and the 24th of July 2008 with no response.

The next contact was on July 24th 2008. The notes for that call are as follows.

I talked to Yi-Ching She mentioned that she hasn't done any of her assignments because she is not home. I told her that she has made a investment with our company and it's our job to make her successful. So she needs to commit to finding time to work on this. She said that she would.

We then left Ms. Lee 3 messages in the next week with no response. As mentioned in the previous response we are currently working the problem out directly with Ms. Lee.

Response to the complaint filed by Y-C

AUTHOR: Alex - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 30, 2008

I am writing to respond to the complaint filed by Y-C. Ms. YC did sign up with Thirve Learning Institute on 6/12/08. She had her first welcome call on 6/17/08 where she was given assignments to complete by the next follow up call. She was in contact with our coaches a few times after that. she then fell off the face of the earth where our coaches tried contacting her to follow up.

I did speak with her on 7/1/08 and she did tell me of the concerns she was having in finding a product to sell. I explained to her that the hardest part in starting the business was the part that she was stuck in at the time which is finding a product. She did not know what to sell so I showed her what other people had been selling that had worked with us. I do not understand where she gets that our clients are not selling what they initially wanted to sell in the first place because she was never told that. I did explain to her that the coaches would teach her how to determine if a product would sell or not. We obviously do not want our clients wasting there time trying to sell something that just won't so we try to point them in the right direction. I emphasized that we where not going to let her fail but the only way we could do that was if she stuck with this. She gave me her commitment again that she would do the program and stick with it.

We then found out that she was disputing the charges made to her credit card company. This was the first time I had heard anything about her since she had given me her commitment to continue with the program on 7/1/08. She then posted a complaint to this website.

Mr. Largin did send her a letter and actually called her after reading what was posted on this website. In the conversation she admitted that she pretty much gave up on the program. She went back to Taiwan when she lost her job for a while and did nothing with the program the whole time. She even admitted that when she received the letter from Mr. Largin she did call to contact him but never left a message for him to call.

It is explained to every client that we work with that if they do their part when it comes to working with us we will most certainly do our part to help them make their investment back. This client has admitted giving up, not returned multiple phone calls from our coaching staff and has also admitted that after speaking with me on 7/1/08 she did not leave any messages to any one in our office to cancel.

We have worked out a refund with her and we are awaiting paperwork from her on this.
