I installed Avast Free software yesterday. After the computer rebooted, I noticed that my program files looked different. When I clicked on them, it said the shortcuts were gone. I tried several different things to get it working. After some frustruation, I called their 24/7 phone number. I spoke to someone who had me go to the Windows Error reporting page, where he proceeded to tell me that because I had too many items on the page (errors), I would need to speak with one of their engineers (for a fee!!).
Later, I called a computer tech guy, and he told me I should be able to reload the programs, although as of this moment, I have not been able to reload all of them. Some of them were expensive programs!
Do not use this program-to save money. It is a giant RIP-OFF, which not only has cost me hours in trying to fix, but lots of money on programs which I will have to replace.
