The policy clearly stated that it provided coverage if the insured is "forced to remove or remedy  existing structures because any portion was built without obtaining a building permit from the proper government office."  Then they say sorry but that happened solely due to building code violations.  Without the permit, the whole top story was a building code violation and any remediation and removal cost are being denied by the company.  Just another instance of a large company screwing over it's customers.  Also the title company sold me this more expensive policy because it had more comprehensive coverage.  Not worth the cost of the postage it was mailed with.
