First Texas Homes DOES NOT ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY for shoddy construction! Arlington Texas

I am writing this report to let people who are planning to buy a home from First Texas Homes to think twice before they do so. Once they sell the home, they will NOT take responsibility for bad construction.

We bought our house in 2002 and last year noticed that we had water in our powder bath, master bath and in the shower. We got a plumber to come in and discovered that there was a blockage in the sewer line, although he could not tell what it was. Due to the high cost of plumbing repairs, I decided to inform First Texas of the issue. Their response was that the warranty had expired.

When the sewer backed up again this year, I finally decided to get it repaired rather than wait. The second time around, the smell of stale sewer soaked carpet stayed for about a week.

When the plumber started the repairs, he found that during construction someone had bored through that sewer pipe and then run electrical conduit through it. Instead of repairing the pipe, someone just put plastic bags around it.

I took pictures of the pipe and sent it to First Texas, but they took forever to respond and when they finally got around to taking a look at it, said that they were not responsible for it. They have REFUSED to reimburse me for my plumbing expenses and for future replacement of my carpet and tile.

I would NEVER recommend a First Texas Home to anyone.
