Global Management One, Inc Deceptive Rental Agency Seattle Washington

As a new divorcee and being left practically homeless, I went to Global management one for help finding a new home after discovering them on craigslist.org.

I had a meeting with one of their representatives who promised me an appointment to do a walk through of a 2 bedroom townhome on the Kent, WA area that they had advertised. She was also quite quick to get me to buy into their program and pay for that day.

I was skeptical and had asked if I don't use their service, could I get a refund? I was assured that they would be glad to give me a refund of $150 of the $195 they were taking from me. So I went ahead and did it so I could have a home.

I signed the contract after she had explained to me that they would send me updates and that the townhome was available on April 1st 2008. This was in February of 2008. I left feeling nervous but thinking it would be great having my own home again.

A month goes by and I don't hear anything from them about an appointment, so I called and was told that they would get back to me, but I never heard from them. A couple weeks later, I called again to get a refund since I was not going to use their service. I got an answering machine.

Two days later I get a call back at the most inconvenient time, while I'm at work, and I wasn't able to answer the call. I called back after work and the phone just simply rang and rang. not even an answering machine at this point. I got scared.

Another two weeks go by and I call again, only to get the answering machine. It takes two days before I hear anything from them, but I heard from the CEO Matt Johnson.

He started out being somewhat friendly but became very condescending, then he proceeds to tell me he can't justify giving me a refund because I never came in to get my updates that I was originally told would be sent to me.

I tried to explain to him that I was told they were going to be mailed and he then raises his voice to me and same as calls me a liar. He proceeds to tell me he's heard my story a thousand times and I sound like everyone else he talks to.

I tried to also tell him that I was promised a walk through of the Kent townhome, only for him to tell me that there are always open houses for that particular home twice a week, every week. And that I could have taken the time to go over there. How convenient this open house is, when it's during the week, during people's normal work hours.

When I tried telling him that I was told I would get a call back a month earlier, he wanted to give him the exact name and gender of the person I talked to. Of course I couldn't remember that, because a month has passed! I was extremely angry at this point for listening to this man continually be rude and call me a liar over and over again.

How do they feel they can get away with these things? And I'm not the only one they are doing it to. THe reason I'm on this website now posting this is because I did my research and found other complaints about them. I think action needs to be taken and get them stopped, before they become a fly-by-night operation and jump ship out of Seattle.

Anyone and everyone who reads this and has had this happen or worse, please, let's all get together and fight them. Let's start a petition to get our money back and run them out of here.
