I was called by who I thought was my pharmacy for re-fill of my medication. I was thrilled to find out that they had lowered the price. This company IS NOT my usual pharmacy, only posed as them to get my credit card information and to charge my account, once for $10.00 and another transaction for $130.00. Both charges were posted to my account on December 1, 2006.

I keep up to date with all of my accounts and check them daily on-line. I would not have known about this fraud until my next statement if I did not check every day.

I did not receive my medication and it is now 13 days after the phone transaction. Not only do I NOT have the medication I need, I no longer have the money to buy it from my regular pharmacy.

Unfortunately, my credit card company insists that I send a form in to dispute these transactions that will take up to 60 days for me to get my money back. How am I supposed to buy my medication in the meantime?

I am, of course, disappointed, but more importantly, my health is as risk. Not the company the fruaded me, nor my credit card company seem to be in much of a hurry to help me. Maybe by the time they get this straigtened out, I will no longer be in need of the medication as I will be deceased.

I have tried their so called web page to check my order; it says it does not exist. I call their phone number (provided by my bank) and I get an automated voicemail telling me to go to their website, which of course does not help me. After the voicemail, it says send your fax now. So I wrote out a letter and called the number and faxed it to them.

They now have 13 minutes left to get in touch with me, which I doubt will happen.

BEWARE!

Wow-that's horrible.

Did you inform your regular pharmacy as to what transpired? If so, what was their comment?

If not, then perhaps many others are going to get scammed in the future here. I could understand why you would not-potential embarrassment and all-but you may have no choice.

Answer to CURIOS

I was fooled as they said they were calling to remind me that my re-fill was due, as my pharmacy always does. They then said, "and do you want to use the same visa you used last month?" and I said yes. They then TOLD ME my visa number w/expiration date and code from the back of the card. When I did not receive my medication, I called my pharmacy and was told that they never called me, were just getting ready to. I was excited b/c when the bogus pharmacy called me, they told me of the new lower price on my medication. The transaction seemed exactly the same as it does every month. So, I suppose that this rip-off outfit has hacked into some data base. Who knows what other personal information they have on me?! I have canceled all my credit cards, debit cards and alerted my credit reporting agencies. Hopefully, although everything is pretty much maxed out on my credit cards (my medications are NOT inexpensive) so they would not be able to get much more anyway.

It is not likely that they could open new accounts as I am currently on disability, pending, so I have no income to open any new credit accounts.

I am on the cusp of getting my disability, which should reimburse me for all the medications I have virtually maxed out all of my credit cards to get, let alone the doctors bills that are still unpaid.

I am feeling somewhat pessimestic right now. No money, not healthy, and not likely to work any time soon if ever. And I still may find out that the course of treatment may not have put me into remission. I am still, more than likely, on my way out.

Upside? I have no family, so, a dead man has no debts, right?

How did they even know who your pharmacy was to be able to pose as them?

What did they do to make you think it was your pharmacy?
