Consumer's Original Complaint : I explained car problem to Frank.  I informed him that the car was running hot, I also informed him that I believed it was the radiator, and another mechanic had told us it was also the freeze plug. He Insisted it was head gasket. I asked was he sure, and he told me absolutely. I told him that I was weary about putting $1200 into the car because it was an older car, He told me after I fixed the head gasket, the car would run like new, and I still had a lot of miles left on it. He Never resolved my problem Repaired most expensive. took car back 3X's. refused 2 repair I took my 85 Camry to Frank in September. I told Frank about the plug, and I told him I had a radiator problem, and my car was running hot and smoking really bad. Frank checked out my car and told me that it was none of the problems that I told him about. He insisted it was the head gaskets. I did not think so, because my problem was with my radiator, and the radiator was leaking and running hot. I could not drive the car very far. He called me insiting that this was a good car, and it was the head gaskets, and if I got that fixed the car would run very good because I had a good car. I told him that I did not want to put a lot of money in the car, and it was going to have a ton of other problems. He assured me that this would fix my problem.He kept my car over the alloted time. I told him that was okay if he needed more time. I let hime fix the car. Paid him $1186, and he gave me a 90 day guaranty. The csr started messing up the same day so I called Frank the next day to inform him that the car was not fixed. He told me to bring the car in, and he would check the car out. He found some other problems with the car, and he said he repaired them and I could pick up the car approx 3 days later. He told me that the radiator was no good. I insisted that the car was running hot because of the radiator, he said. "no". Now weeks later after not repairing he tells me that the radiator and several other things were wrong with the car. I asked him was it gointg o be worth it to fix the car He said yes. I do not believe anything was wrong with the head gaskets. it was always the radiator and freeze plug. He has another Camry there the same time my car was in the shop and that car may have had a head gasket problem, but I do not think mine did. He also insisted on changing the water pump and the belt which had not long ago been replaced. He told me if I showed him where it had been replaced, that he would not have to replace it, but after showing it to him. He said it still need to be replaced. My car was never fixed, and I have not drove it more than 1-2 days since he said he fixed it. Consumer's Desired Resolution: I do believe that Frankd should return my money to me the full amount, because he did not rightly tell me what was wrong with my car, and he charged me to fix the head gaskets, when that was not the problem. He did not stand behind his 90 day guaranty. He found problem after problem once I started to bring the car back, and out of the 6-7 extra problems that he informed me about, two of them were the major problems why the car was smoking. He did not fix those because they did not cost as much.My car was not repaired properly, diagnosed properly, guaranty was not honored, and he was not honest. I do believe that I deserve all of money back. BBB Processing
