Ocwen purchased my loan back in April 2002. They are over charging my impound account on the loan by $60 per month for extra insurance that was pre-paid from escrow. I have written over 10 letters to them, and have provided documentation showing them the problem. Ocwen continues to send me letters saying that they are researching the problem but to date, it is not resolved.
Then in July 2002, I received a tax delinquent notice from San Diego County that my property taxes were NOT paid. It turns out that Ocwen paid the WRONG amount, and San Diego county did not accept the payment at all. I have sent 3-4 letters about this problem and have made 10 phone calls & left messages to Ocwen's research department. They state in the their recording that they will respond back to you in 3 hours. Ha, this is a joke. So, right now I am being charged penalties, late fees due to their incompetence.

#1 Consumer Suggestion
forced placed insurance when I proved I had insurance
AUTHOR: Liz - ()

I too was in a very similar situation for the past year with this god awful company. hey had underestimated my taxes by $1000. took money from my escrow account that wasn't even there to do pay the taxes and now for the next year and a half I have to make up the difference in the escrow.
I also had forced placed insurance even after I had proven to Ocwen over and over again that I had home owner's insurance. I hope you have patience because that is what it is going to take when dealing with these people. Send them emails, send them letters, keep calling them back until you can get an answer.
Don't curse at them or they will hang up and you will get no where.
Next, contact the Florida State Attorney General, and The State Insurance commissioner, and an attorney. Send the company a letter or an email telling them this and about your situation. Don't let them push you around. I hope you eventually get your situation resolved.
