I wear tri-focals which I got there about two years ago. My distant vision has gotten a bit blurry so I called for appointment, told them what problem was and went in July 28,2017. Told doctor distant vision was bad, couldn't red street signs until I was right at them, other vision was fine. After exam she told me new glasses would help me see better. I go back August 4th to pick up , put them on and I told the man something was wrong, I could not read his name tag from any of the three areas. He told me since it was a new prescription it would take time to adjust, wear my old ones home and put new ones on in the morning. I have worn glasses over 45 years and never been told that but I said OK and went home.
I wore them all weekend with no improvement so went back Monday and told lady still not better, she says have to adjust, wear at least three days, I told her I had and lady beside her says it takes a week if no better by Friday come back and doctor can re-examine. I go back, doc does exam says same as before, that because I have cataracts and an astigmatism vision cannot be improved more than new script, I told her I still cannot see street signs, that vision is no better with new glasses than with old ones and she says it takes time for the brain to adjust and that I will have to get closer to things to see them better. I was told at exam two years go that I had the start of a cataract on my left eye I believe she said but was told it takes years to get bad enough for surgery. Nothing was said about cataracts or astigmatism at exam for new glasses. So I left again hoping that with a few more days it would " adjust ". I tried driving with them for the first time the next day and cannot even see dash well enough to see what my speed is. My distant vision is the same with new glasses as it is with old ones, no improvement at all, in fact it is slightly better with my old ones. I should have been told at initial exam that vision could not get better or at the least that it might not get better, instead I am told new glasses will help me see better.
Bottom line here is this: no matter what eye conditions I have I am not seeing better as I was told I would, if they cannot improve my vision they should say so and not try to convince me I will adjust to new glasses. Since this happened I have read complaints where people have had same issue so I am not first. I am now $168 poorer and have glasses that sit on my table. Company should do the right thing and refund my money. I will say this, my previous experiences with them were good, upon putting new glasses on my vision was immediately better but not this time, and my husband who went in just a few weeks prior had good results. I have contacted corporate but it is the weekend so I don't expect any contact for a day or two .

They are total jerks at this store. August 14 I talked to district manager who arranged a meeting between himself, store manager, Stephanie, and I for Thursday the 17th at noon. He later to say he could not make it but I was to meet with Stephanie. On Tuesday I called to see about changing the meeting to Friday since it is 25 miles in and I had other things to do that day so it would save me a trip. I asked for Stephanie, lady asked my name, now keep in mind I have already been in three times so they know me by name, she says " Hold and I'll see if she is available", comes back and says " She called in sick today but she'll be back tomorrow " . So I call back Wednesday about 2 p.m.,put on hold while she checks to see if Stephanie is available, after a minute or so line goes dead and I get dialtone so I call back, explain I was on hold for Stepahine and she says " Oh, yeah, let me check ", comes back and says " She went home early ". So apparently this manager does not let her employees know when she is not coming in or when she leaves. Small store, maybe 6-8 employees yet they don't know if manager is in or not.So I explain it to her and she says she will call and tell woman and get back to me, which she never did. Thursday morning I call early,8:30, thought they open at 8 but not till 9 so I leave mesage, no call back at all so I assume it is ok to go next day. I went in with my husband about 10 a.m., go to desk, ask for Stephanie, when I tell her my name she looks at woman next to her then back to us and says " she went to the hopoital "I tell her I was supposed to see her today and she says " I'll go back and see when she's coming back ", on her way she stops and talks to doctor who did my exam, they look over at us., talk a few more seconds and she goes to back, comes out 3-4 minutes later and says " Stephanie said you were supposed to come yesterday and she waited all day for you " I told her I had called and left message, her response was " we didn't get it" I could have called her on fact she said woman had gone to hospital but she has already lied to me and most likely would have said she didn't know she was back, instead I just said " I guess I go home and call district manager back ". they could have said " have a seat and Stephanie will se you as soon as she can " but like previous trips no attempt was made to do anything. There has never been any adjustment to glasses, nothing except being told I have to adjust and after second exam doctor saying " you have to get closer to things to see them now ", well no kidding, I can do that without spending $200 on useless glasses. I called DM , he was apalled at their attitude and set another meeting for next Thursday for three of us and said " at the end of the meeting you will be happy no matter what, I promise you " Anything other than full refund on next trip will mean more trips in so it will then be 7 trips, about 350 miles since it is 25 one way, that's about $25 in gas and 14 hours of my time. Not to mention if they try to adjust and I have to go back I will have to deal with those jerks without District manager there. I expect FULL refund, no charge for exam since I have so much invested with gas and time.

I WENT THROUGH TRYING TO GET GLASSES I COULD SEE WITH FOR NEARLY 3 MONTHS! 3 MONTHS! I DOUBT THAT THEY EVER SENT THEM TO THE LAB, BUT THEY HAD THEM FOR 3 MONTHS. THE CONTACTS WERE OKAY, BUT MY GLASSES MADE ME VIOLENTLY ILL. THE IDIOT MANAGER BEHIND THE COUNTER TOLD ME THAT IF I WENT TO BED WITHOUT GLASSES, AND THEN WAITED 15 MIN BEFORE PUTTING THEIRS ON IN THE MORNING, MY EYES WOULD AUTOMATICALLY ADJUST. IF THAT WERE THE CASE, NO PERSON WOULD NEED CORRECTIVE EYEWEAR. I ALSO PAID ADDITIONAL MONIES FOR THINNER LENSES, AND GOT LENSES MORE THAN A 1/2" THICK! I HAVE UNTREATED LENSES *FROM THEM THAT ARE THINNER THAN THEIR TREATED ONES. I NEVER ENDED UP USING THOSE GLASSES. I HATE THAT PLACE. THEY'RE MOSTLY A MEDICAID OFFICE, AND HAVE OVERCHARGED THE GOVERNMENT BY MANY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR $2 GLASSES. NEXT TIME, GET YOUR PD (PUPILLARY DISTANCE) + YOUR PRESCRIPTION, AND JUST GO TO WHERELIGHT, ZENNI, GLASSESUSA, OR GLASSES (DOT COM). I SAW A *COMPLETE PAIR OF PRESCRIPTION GLASSES ON ZENNI FOR $6.95. AT THIS OFFICE, THE *SAME, EXACT FRAMES WERE ON SALE FOR MORE THAN $200!! THEY WEREN'T NAME BRAND, BUT REGULAR UGLY FRAMES. I REMEMBER PICKING THEM UP SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT THEM AFTER SEEING THE PRICE. I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE THEY PROBABLY COST $1 TO MAKE. $200? FOR CHEAP, NO NAME FRAMES?! THAT'S NOT COUNTING THE LENSES. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THAT'S LEGAL. I THOUGHT PLACES BILLING BACK FOR SOCIAL PROGRAMS WERE SUPPOSED TO KEEP COSTS AS LOW AS POSSIBLE, NOT AS HIGH AS THEY CAN GET THEM. SOME FRAMES ARE SO EXPENSIVE, INSURANCE WON'T COVER THEM. THEY LITERALLY BILL ANY, AND ALL INSURANCES FOR THE MAXIMUM DOLLAR AMOUNT. THEY'RE JUST AWFUL. MOST FRAMES ARE MADE IN THE SAME FEW FACTORIES, SO I'D SAY BOYCOTT THEM FOR LESS EXPENSIVE OPTIONS. THIS PLACE IS JUST AN OUTFIT FOR INSURANCE FRAUD.
