I ordered 3 aircraft models, 2 were the same and 1 of a different type as gifts for friends. i had bought  6 models approx 5 years ago which were made quite well at the time.

The 3 models were delivered a few days ago. On opening the carton, I couldn't believe my eyes. The Pitot tubes ( 4 small tubes at the nose of the aircraft which should point forward) on 2 of the models were pointing directly up. There was paint that had chipped off various antennas as well. I compared the overall paint and finishing quality to previous models I have.. I couldn't believe it the quality...absolutely terrible.

I immediately contacted them and sent photos of the damage. The owner contacted me and said that I can send the models back to them but I would have to pay for the freight charges as specified under thier terms and conditions. Obviously it did not make sense that I should borne the freight costs as they would be almost  the same cost that I paid for the models. He was willing to hide behind these T and C's and risk industry reputation than just accept the charges himself.

He went on to suggest I bend these tubes back into their correct positions myself. 1 snapped off, as I thought it would as well as cracking paint around the base of them. He also suggested that I go to a hobby shop and buy paint and touch up all the paintwork myself......good luck trying to match the paint !! The overall finishing quality on all of them is terrible and to think that I will give them as gifts.

My advise to anyone considering using Planearts (or Modelbuffs as they are also known) is to stay totally away from them. There are better companies that can make better models or replicas.

Please feel free to Personal Message me  for further information. I am also happy to send photos of my models so you can see the quality of their work!

Another kind referral from this customer

AUTHOR: ModelBuffs - (Philippines)

POSTED: Sunday, November 27, 2016

I am delighted to report that this customer had made yet another kind referral for our company as follows (for the BD-700 below):-

Dear Planearts,

I hope you are well as it has been 2 years since you made 2 Custom G-200 models for me (VP-CEK).

A friend informed me that you made him a custom BD-700 model (Global Express "B-LRH")!

Please advise if you have this stock available for sale, with price for 2 models including delivery to Hong Kong?

Regards

Happy with the outcome

I wish to add to my earlier complaint about Planearts as it seems my last comments were not published here. Adrian, the Director of Planearts and I came to a very ammicable outcome and he was kind enough to make a new model for me. The quality and workmanship exceeded my expectations. For this I am greatful. As I have had other models made previously, and to a high standard, I am very pleased to say I would be happy to not only recommend Planearts workmanship to others but also happy to use them again in the future.

I have only just been made aware (as at 30 November 2015)  that the complaint had not been removed as was offered by the buyer and complainant.  There follows the email communications that show the buyer was satisfied on how the matter was dealt with.  I am delighted also that we are able to show how we value our customers and how we operate with 100% honesty and integrity.  The buyers full name and email address has been removed to comply with the terms and condions of Ripped Off Report.  Attached are images of the model that the customer was delighted with.

Hi Peter

Thank you very much for your below email and your kind and accurate words.

I am very happy that we were finally able to satisfy you.  At the end of the day that is out true mission.

I would of course be very grateful if you can preferably delete the posts you have made or if deletion is not possible that you can simply say that we together found a way to work things out.  I am not sure what posts you made but apart from Rippedoffreports I did see a post on Scamorg?

I hope of course that you will come back to us in the future.

Adrian

Dear Adrian,

I received the model yesterday and I'd just like to say that it was very nicely made.

It's unfortunate that I needed to go down the road that I did but as you must understand, these models are trophies in people's careers, they sit on display for many years as my other 2 are. I really dont want to patronise at all but dont forget, there is your company details on the sticker beneath.

I am very pleased that it all turned out well in the end. As I have said, I am happy to go forward and delete my post as well as comment favorably in the future.

Regards

Peter
