Schwans Rip Off, Sales Reps-----Be Warned Marshall Minnesota

Wanna work for a winner of a company? Go to Schwans Home Food Service.  I have been in sales for 15 years and took on the role of a Route Sales Representative for them.  Joke would be an understatement! One would be better off collecting unemployment than working for this outfit.  

I tried giving Schwans the benefit of the doubt and transferred to another depot when I had to move to Northern VA.  Much more of a major cluster f*&^. Worked over 16 hours a day from when I left my condo to when I got home.  The company will turn a cheek to DOT issues but expect the RSR to run around the clock to service customers.  I'm convinced Marvin Schwan is rolling in his grave now in terms of where the company is in terms of revenue and how they treat employees.  Great food however, I will not buy it and have told all of my friends and family what this joke of a company put me through and none of them will buy it now either.

I transferred to Virginia and had my own route.  Coming from Western MD, I was a fill in.  I thought it was the right move.  What a joke.  I had not only my own route but was filling in for another route as they couldn't keep any sales people at this Depot.  I was working on average 14 hours a day on the clock (16 by the time you add in commute times to and from the depot) and when you add the average commission making about $10 per hour.

As stated previously, I have been in sales for 15 years and to earn the earnings of $10 per hour is a complete insult to me.  I told the acting depot manager they needed me more than I needed them and quit after he tried writing me up for a DOT issue that I had made him aware of as the hours as previously stated reveal.

Schwan's was a good company from what I hear from the Marvin Schwan days but they have let it all go to hell in a handbasket.  You are better off working fast food than working at Schwans.
