I just attended a three-day seminar titled Teach Me Foreclosure in Las Vegas, Nevada. I signed up for this course after attending a 90-minute teaser conference three weeks prior. The teaser presentation was well done and the previews and description for the course did sufficiently imply that the true value of this course was a legitimate value of $2995.
However, since this is a new course offering, those who signed up during the presentation would be offered a considerable discount in price. This was for a limited time only and it was implied the price would be back to $2995 soon.
I signed up and received a course book on foreclosure and was recommended to go through the book prior to the three-day seminar to be better prepared for the information that would be presented in the workshop.
The book does provide a good reference manual for those who want basic foreclosure information. I called ahead to ask for a course curriculum for the Teach Me Foreclosure and was directed to the Wealth Intelligence Academy website and told I could get it there. This course was not listed. If perspective students knew the actual curriculum prior to registering for this course, they would likely NOT sign up!
There were about 120 students in attendance for this three day seminar. The instructor had 25 plus years of active Real Estate investing experience. One interesting statement made was that the Wealth Intelligence Academy puts about 26,000 students through courses every month around the country. What is extremely misleading is that nearly the entire second day of this seminar is spent describing in detail all of the various Advanced Training courses offered by the Wealth Intelligence Academy and how important it is to attend these courses if you want to be successful. The psychological pressure applied is similar to what you might expect at a car dealership. I am sure those in attendance did not appreciate spending the second day in a sales presentation rather than learning the foreclosure information that we expected to learn.
On the third day there was a noticeably smaller attendance as I expected. The third day did provide more useful information and the instructor did go over some personal deals he had completed as examples. Overall, I left feeling that I still need more knowledge to be a successful real estate investor (this is made evident with each transition to a new catagory that was covered) although I was leery to sign up for more with the Wealth Intelligence Academy.
This course is definitely NOT a $2995 value and is certainly deceptive in being described as a three-day foreclosure training course.

#3 Consumer Suggestion
Teach Me Foreclosure Is RUSS Whitney In Disguise

I noticed that the "Russ Whitney" commercials are back on TV with absolutely zero mention of Russ Whitney or Whitney Group.. They are branded 'Teach Me Foreclosure' seminars and are lavish commercials about how you can help people save their credit by helping them out of foreclosed properties. I went to networksolutions.com and ran a WHOIS report on teachmeforeclosure.com (the website from the company) -- although the website has ZERO mention of Russ Whitney, the whois reveals the truth: teachmeforeclosure.com is owned by

Anyone thinking of attending one of these "FREE seminars" should type in Russ Whitney in ripoffreport and read about the HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of people he has stolen money from. I find it really rich that he's removed his name from the website completely!

No rip off, no scam!

People don't listen. The speakers never said the students would learn all about foreclosure. No, intelligent adults should assume they can learn all about a subject as large as Foreclosure in a 3 day seminar.
The students actually get Real Estate information worth much more than what they pay. But, again, they are not listening. They don't notice that any Real Estate professionals present, walk away with much more information than they expected!

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds
Teach Me Foreclosure is more help and good information
AUTHOR: James - (U.S.A.)

Hi my name is Jim and I am a former employee of "Teach Me Foreclosure". This is not a "Rip Off" or scam. If people would only consider, Real Estate is a huge subject and cannot be taught in 3 days. Each facet of Real Estate is complicated and time consuming to learn. That is why not everyone is a Real Estate millionaire.
This company tells you the first day of the 3 day seminar that they cannot tell you everything you need to know about "Foreclosure" in 3 days, or in 3 weeks for that matter. Attorneys study for years to know this subject and not all of them are able to learn what actually should be done.
For some reason people think they can learn all they need to know in a very short time and when they get out into the market they don't know they are lost until they lose serious money.
The people teaching "Teach Me Foreclosure" are an honest well meaning group for the most part and try their hardest to let people know that Foreclosure is a dangerous subject and serious education is necessary to get involved in this Real Estate strategy .
We teach people to create "Win Win" situations when dealing with foreclosures. I have personally helped people to understand that a subject this large requires "real study" not a few days in a seminar.
Many of the people complaining are those who left after a short time without learning anything.
The truth about these seminars is simply: if you listen you will learn many good things about Real Estate, some of the "nuggets" you learn when used correctly will more than pay for this class many times over. To learn all about foreclosure become a lawyer! That sure doesn't take 3 days, does it?
