I saw a 2003 SL 500 Mercedes advertised by Texas Direct Auto on e-bay motors. I called Bart and made a deal to buy the auto, like others have reported they wanted a deposit of $ 500.00 and a cashiers check for the remainder (a way to avoid feedback on e-bay and save them a few bucks).
The car was not ready for delivery Jul 2 because of a memory malfunction (engine light on). Mike Dodd made a generous offer to pay for a one day car rental ($ 169.00) which has not been paid and the auto would be available on Jul 3, no later than 2:00 p.m..
The car was delivered at approximately 5:45, Jul 3. The memory malfunction had "been repaired" and I bought an extended warranty. I believe they were stalling until just before closing because they had returned the rental car and knew I was stuck (my wife was with me).
Less than one hour later the message memory malfunction displayed. I took the car to a Mercedes dealer and they stated the battery had been disconnected to conceal the warning messages. Master Tech (extended warranty) refused to pay for the repairs (preexisting condition) I cancelled and they returned the money to Texas Direct Auto and they still owe me the refund ($ 2,355), rental fees ($ 169.00), navigation CD's and manual
($ 500.00) and I claim $ 577.00 for the malfunction repairs because they had "fixed the problem". If you read this don't deal with them and if you want an extended warranty buy it ELSEWHERE.

Texas Direct Auto responded and corrected all of my problems. Primarily a failure to communicate. I am 100 percent satisfied with their product and service.

I can't seem to get this report on line. Today, I filed a complaint with my bank and asked for a refund from my debit card ($ 2,355) about a ten day wait to see how this is handled. Avoid this company and you won't have to jump through hoops to try and get what is rightfully yours. They still owe a refund for the car rental, navigation CD's and manual or $ 500.00 and $ 577.00 for repairs they claim they made before they released the car. If you want to get scammed go ahead and fall for their misleading ads. I have not heard from the Texas Attorney General but believe I will in due course.
