I read information from Frank in Lakeland and others who are as disgruntled by this scheme as I am. After spending much time searching, I believe I found a way to get a refund.

First off, Ultimate Wealth Package (UWP) offers a "free" website and eBooks ("tools") to help anyone gain wealth through online affiliation. The site, and related material, of course leaves out all the details of creating this wealth until you pay them the fee. In my case, it was $39.95. When I clicked to join, the UWP website forwarded me to Click Bank where I was able to pay through Paypal. Paypal is a legitimate business which I have done transactions with in the past.

Once "in", you build the website (Step 1). This is very simple since there really are no options. In a minute, your basic marketing affiliation site is up and running. However, you will be bombarded with reminder to upgrade to the PRO account which is hosted by midPhase Web Hosting. Once at midPhase, you're asked for a domain name, then the account billing information. At this point, you're asked to pay for a year in advance ($9.95/month x 12 months = $119.40/yr). This pro account enables you to make the desired income by opening up more "streams" of possibility - Google ads, Email lists, etc. I'm really surprised Google allows their name & logo to appear on such a site. I did not want to commit to a year so i clicked to close the window. A chat window popped up and an automated script tried to convince me to "CLICK HERE" for a discount of $7.95/month. Still not going to do it.

Anyway, the long version of this story is on my personal blog page. Step 2 requires reading these eBooks, too numerous to mention here. Reading them was a joke. The eBooks had several grammatical and spelling errors throughout. It was like the tell-tale signs most net-savvy people know how to spot a fake Paypal site or false bank website. Legitimate sites know to proofread their pages before going "live". Obviously, the eBook authors did not go this extra step.

Finally, to get traffic to the site and start "making money fast", there are marketing tools. Get-Visitors-Now is their recommendation. Of course, that's another $49.95. But, if you try to close the window, another chat window pops up with another discount if you "CLICK HERE". Sorry, I didn't fall for it or the other marketing scams they pushed.

In total, if I had agreed to the whole deal, rather than just the basics on the UWP site, I would have been out of nearly $300 by now. I found that the Better Business Bureau gave them and their affiliations unsatisfactory reports.

Now for the refund. Frank in Lakeland (on here) posted that there was no clear way of doing this. I agree, but I may have found it from an online forum discussing this same topic. My transaction was handled through Click Bank. Go to http://www.clickbank.com/csinquiry.html and enter the information requested. It may take a couple of days before I hear back from them. I may update this report when/if I do.

Emails to UWP seem like canned (automated) messages and, as with the eBooks, contain grammatical errors.

I would like to post my web address for anyone interested in the LONG version of this report, which includes specific details and web addresses corresponding to the story. The URL to this story is http://www.chicodawg.com/archives/99

Good luck to all and hope the refund process (above) works.
