I signed up for a Trial. The welcome message stated: "After the free trial ends on August 25, 2024, you will be charged CAD $29.37 (incl. tax) monthly. Your subscription will automatically renew annually until you cancel (price subject to change)."
Note the use of 'monthly' here.
When I went to cancel they will bill for for the remained of the year, in my case another $116.96.
I feel deceived, and I have a very low opinion of the predatory billing practice. Shame on Adobe.
I will make an effort publicize this practice to help other prospects from making a similar naive mistake.
I see the Better Business Bureau has this when I logged this experience there:
Current Alerts For This Business Government Action: BBB reports on known government actions involving business’ marketplace conduct:: FTC vs Adobe Systems
The Federal Trade Commission is taking action against software maker Adobe and two of its executives, Maninder Sawhney and David Wadhwani, for deceiving consumers

Predatory my %#@! That's the BS serial deadbeats use. You can also forget the BBB. The BBB is not part of any government or law enforcement entity and as such has absolutely ZERO AUTHORITY over ANY business. The ONLY purpose of the BBB with all their PHONEY BALONEY, is to SELL "A+" phoney ratings to any business willing to pay the price. The BBB phoney ratings and phoney accreditations are PURCHASED. The BBB is absolutely meaningless and is a PAY FOR PLAY CON-GAME!

Read the terms before you buy next time. You were required to sign up for 12 months in order to get that monthly pricing.

If it was a month to month plan, why is it referring to the subscription renewing annually? Besides, the welcome message only gets displayed AFTER you have already signed the contract. Next time, read the contract before agreeing to it. $100 is a cheap way to learn that lesson. Ask anyone who has bought a timeshare about how expensive it can get.
