Dublin United Soccer League DUSL Refused refund when games are illegal and we have no coach or sufficient players Dublin ca

We signed up our son for this soccer season back in April, 2020. We have had him in this league for at least 5 years. We had hoped the Covid pandemic would have been under control by now, but it clearly is not. The state and county have banned all youth contact sports (no games or scrimmages or any contact less than 6 feet from one another). Our coach pulled out due to Covid fears and we have about 6 or 7 kids left on the team (not nearly enough for the 11 player minimum required for a soccer team).

So, we politely asked for a refund this season due to the pandemic and the fact that legally we could not play any games and we don't have a coach or enough players for a team. Todd Barnes flat out refused any sort of refund saying they have a no refund policy and always have. He said they had expenses incurred already. (We don't have a team yet, there has literally been no spending of any kind, no practices, nothing.)

Obviously this is a pandemic and we are not in normal times. So, they're expecting us to just lose $500 dollars when we have no team, no coach, and legally can't play any games...?
