I have to agree with the previous  persons  complaint with regards to their concerns  and compassion with their tenants. They will always start their  meetings with so how much do you feel comfortable paying ? Then comes all the added charges. I can tell you that when I moved in there were several repairs  that  to get done . I made it a point to take pictures  prior to sending over my request  for service. The bathroom shower  head was not chauked, the patio light was hanging.

The door lock was  hard to open . The oven tempeture  never works . and They never repainted the unit - instead they patched it up where it needed it. During my first month here I sent a request over to the management personelle michelle and asked if I could possibly upgrade to a three bedroom unit. She stated  sure however there is a 500.00 charge to repaint your unit  prior to us being able to move you then a additional charge to run my daughters  credit app. What ????  I just moved in the unit and  why would I have to pay 500.00 for you to repain when you never repainted my unit to begin with?

Money hoggers just looking to make out like a bandit. How ridiculious is that? The tenants above complained about water leaks  that leaked in my unit. My bedroom walls are now showing signs  of the leak as there is water leak cracks,  Furnace and air conditioning were also repaired during the 12 month lease. The maintance  guys  are not  back ground checked like they should be because  our last guy was picked up by the police.

When they come into do reapirs when your not home they fail to lock your doors. Mine were left unlocked on 2- occassions. Corono-virus  lack of compassion. Heres one for you . I gave my notice to not renew  in jan - bigining of Feb  . Stay at home orders  came out in march . I walked into the office and discussed my concerns with Michelle who refused to offer a month to month or shot term lease until this was all over and she flat out refused. Im sorry she says we only do 12 month leases  your option is to renew or let me know what your intentions are so I can have your 10 day evivtion notice ready when the courts open up.

I am a single mother of a 15 year old son who stressed my concerns to her. I told her I keep reaching out because this is the right thing to do. I asked her to reach out to her corporate office to see if they could show a ounce of compassion based on the current Pandemic and stilltoday  she stands firm on her answer. I evne emailed The Connor  groups corporate office and got no response.  they will get you in the door with a low start rate then at the end of the year increase it by 100.00 - 200.00 a month . as the renewal season hit  I noticed the increase from my neighbors  were all different  . They wanted to increase my rent $100.00  and two of my other neighbors  were increased by $200.00 I guess I lucked out being a single mom. If I had a boyfriend or husband's added income Im sure my rent would have increased by $200.00 as well.

Heres  how far their lack of compassion goes and money comes first. Let me also mention that because they got a big corporate account for may move ins that they were in need of at least 8-10 2 bedroom units  for just a 6 month move in but wont offer  short term options during the corona virus even though I am a paid tenant-

Nothing here is consistent and yes they are only thinking about the number game here. Today I sent Michelle another email - again reaching out to see what options she will have for me prior to the end of my lease.

Im sure her reaponse will be that they have no options at all other than resigning a new yearly lease - Do you think for one minute Im going to sign.

Still unsure what will happen at the present moment .

The Only One Shoveling BS Here Is You

AUTHOR: Jim - (United States)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 22, 2020

The problem Crystal is that you are not the judge of who is showing compassion or not.  You are also not the arbiter of determining what is the right thing.  The truth is, neither am I.  This is why rental contracts are put into writing.  The contract makes it clear who is responsible for what.  When you give notice to move, the apartment complex must honor your request.  That's why your complaints are BS.

Now, all of the items you describe when the apartment was first rented to you, had to be identified and fixed to your satisfaction.  The reality is that the repairs were done to your satisfaction, otherwise you would not have moved in - period.  And yes, they repainted the apartment before you moved in - because that happens all of the time.  The fact there were imperfections in the work...meh.  I can't get too excited because the standard under the law is that the apartment must be in a liveable condition in order for the apartment to be rented.  It doesn't have to be perfect.  Your apartment was fine.  That's why your complaints when you moved in are irrelevant and BS.

So you moved in and one month later you want a 3-bedroom apartment.  Fine, you can do that, but as they said, they want a $500 charge, which means they need to prepare the apartment for the next occupant; that's what the $500 charge is for.  Your complaints are irrational because, of course, this is required.  That's why all of your rantings are BS.

Then you rant all about greed and money hogs, which are nothing more than the wailings of the poor and stupid.  Seriously, no one here has sympathy for people who complain about greed since the poor and stupid are the greediest bunch out there.  This website is full of people who claim they were ripped off because someone promised them something like free money, and they not only end up with nothing, but pay people upfront to have them do this to you.  By complaining about this - it makes you nothing more than shoveling BS.

So here's the topper - you give notice that you want to leave and that notice was for 30 days, since that's how long most notices are for.  Then, when you're about ready to depart - the world turns upside down.  In the 30 day period you were given, you didn't find a new place to live - I mean that's what you should have done in the first place.  The order of giving notice goes something like this (a) you find a new place to live, (b) you sign an agreement to move into the new place, and then (c) you give notice to your current landlord.  Well, had you done steps a and b in the right order, then the rest of this would not have happened.  Instead, you want to go back on your notice because it is inconvenient for you and because you can't find another place to live?  You REALLY screwed up - it is that simple.  You want them to do the right thing?  The right thing was for you to follow through on your word and leave.  The right thing was for them to offer your apartment to the next tenant.  Begging to stay was the WRONG thing to do.  That's just shoveling a lot of BS.

Compassion?  Hilarious.  There is no room for compassion when there are contracts and legal commitments involved.  When compassion enters into a situation like this, then lawsuits happen.  Next time, keep in mind the right thing to do is NOT what you think it is.  Greed can be found when you look in a mirror.  Stop shoveling BS.  Nobody is buying it.

My guess is that they're not going to offer you squat.  They know you, and when a landlord knows you're a headache (and a moron to boot), then they're not going to lift a finger for you.  It's time for you to find a new place - you burned your bridge here.  That's not BS.

single mother of 1 still at home  -     Yes I gave my notice to vacate Jan - Feb  . Stay at home orders were finalized in March. My last day in the office ( employment was 3.18.2020) which means no income .

I stressed this to management and asked for options. I asked her to work with me ? I actually reached out to management on three occassions. asking her to work with me well before the stay at home orders.  I still to this day do not want to renew my stay here -  Im firm on that . However would you or anyone else for that matter  move you child and risk infection at a time like this. No one is showing  units due to the whole covid -19 pandemic .

Everything is  virtural -Im sorry but Id like to see what I am buying  and  signing a lease for prior to signing - or would you just sign away and not worry about how much larger the unit looked on line than in person.

I asked  her to reach out to their corporate office  and see if they could do a one - two - three month  extension until this passed .   But ( nope ) no no options  - you have to sign a one year lease.

so lets say she offered me  the increase on a month to month at  $100.00 more a month until The pandemic was safer .....

Great - now your providing me with options

It  still would have  been a option - but one she refused to give. Maybe Im just  a civilized person who does the right thing , maybe I expect people to act like humans .  and show compassion   and do the right thing.

I could be like the next person and tokld her that  with the evictions  clause she cant evict me because im not woking but instead  Paid my dues  which was the right thing to do and paid my rent like a productive member of society .

look Im not looking for a free hand out here I just expected her to act with some compassion and work with me - instead they will only work with you if you sign you life away with adidng  a whole nother year to your lease  while they rent your unit out to a huge corporate  thing coming - guess when  right at the end of my lease  for only a 6 month lease . When she repeatedly told me they have only standard 12 month leases.

whos  the bull s**+**er now

The current situation seems to be the new scapegoat.

You spent over half of your report talking about the lack of minor maintenence, but that of course has nothing to do with the current situation.

I could possibly upgrade to a three bedroom unit. She stated sure however there is a 500.00 charge to repaint your unit prior to us being able to move you then a additional charge to run my daughters credit app.
- I thought you were a single monther of a 15 year old SON?  You didn't mention anything about a daughter is she living with you?  Is she an adult?

You gave your notice to vacate in January several weeks before any "Stay at Home" orders were issued. You talk about a lack of compasion, but with many landlords would hold you to that and not offer you any choices other than to be forced to move out at the end of your lease. What exactly did you do after you gave your notice?

You had weeks before any orders were issued, so apparently you did NOTHING to try to locate another apartment during that time. But even after March, there isn't a single State I am aware of where those orders  would restrict you from moving.

By the way you complained about a $100/month increase. If by some chance they do offer you a "Month-To Month" lease, you can expect to pay at least 10-25% more PER MONTH  because you have not committed to a longer period.

Seems like you are leaving a few things out of your report.
