Complaint Review: iTrip - Franklin Tennessee
iTrip iTrip Vacations Smoky Mountains Rentals Stayed at Cabin, No Power, No Food NO Water for three days, Weather had us stuck on mountain top. Lied about damage done to property Franklin Tennessee
I reserved a very expensive property on July 2020, paid half up front of $1500.00 then paid the other half on 11/24/2020 of $1500.00. This stay was at ITrips Pidgeon Forge Flacon Ridge Property. Dates were for December 24-29, 2020. We arrived at 3:45 pm on December 24, 2020, it was snowing. We unloaded and started back down the mountain to get food, roads were so bad we ran to the mountain, because of ice on the way down damaging our Vehicle. We had four vehicles with us in our party of 13. Ages of people were 49,48,43, 41, 28, 26, 26, 23, 22, 19, 19, 12, 4. We had to walk a mile back to the Cabin, got back at around 5:30pm. Was there for about 15 minutes, and the POWER went out. Not to come the on for the three days we were stuck in the cabin, that night the water went off.
We contacted emergencies services and left numerous messages with them; no help form them. We did not have any FOOD or WATER, except for one case of bottled water 24 bottles for 13 people. The roads were way to dangerous to try and navigate on a mountain. The road that the cabin we were on, was on a private road, and the city would not ice or scrape them. The first night was around 22 degrees, the second night was 10 degrees. The baby got sick from being in this environment, for this long a period. We used their ash can outside for a fire on the Patio, no damage was done to anything out there, except for some paper form fire flying around because of the wind. We were trying to stay warm.
On Saturday morning, the roads were the best they had been, and we got off the mountain. We never used anything in the house, except the beds and blankets and toilets that we had to use water from the jacuzzi to flush with. That was it, and we cleaned and swept before we left. We were being texted by a man that works in the Pidgeon Forge Office the entire time of the ordeal. I do not know his name. He said a full refund would be given in about 5 to 7 days. Ok, sounds good. We had to make other reservation at on two different hotels because the people that had to get off the mountain. We get a call on 12/28/2020 saying they will have to send a full refund by check because we used two different credit cards to pay for the cabin. I said ok, no problem, she stated that it would be about a week to get to us, again no worries.
At this moment I am out $4700.00 for cabin and 3 hotel rooms in 2 different hotels. This is a lot of money for me, I am not a rich man. This does not even include food and gas money. I have called ITrips weekly checking on my refund, leaving messages and no one returning my calls. I get in touch with VRBO yesterday and we talk about the refund and they state that the refund has been sent to our Credit cards, I check both and no refunds at all, VRBO is either lying to me or ITrips is lying to VBRO, I do not know. I called the man that was texting me in the mountains during our stay, he never answered my calls, I then use my office number and he picked up, because it was from a different number and said something to someone with him, and then hung up. Never said a word to me. Then he texted me back right after that and said I would get an email later in the day.
I waited until 5:45pm on 01/21/2021 no email. I wake up this morning 02/22/2021 an email saying we destroyed the cabin with pictures. This is an outright LIE!!!!!! These pictures looked staged and made up , the only true ones in the bunch were the bed spreads from all the beds on one bed, because we needed them to stay warm, and it stated in the instruction for the cabin to place them on the beds. Also, the ash on the porch, that is correct and the ash bucket outside. This was us trying to stay warm, all the other pictures were not done by us, this is unbelievable, and I cannot believe why someone would lie like this. I will get 11 sworn statements from the people that were there with us, of how we left that cabin.
If this is how you are going to treat customers, then I will be placing a call and email complaint to the Better Business Bureau, Google Reviews, Bing Reviews, Brave Reviews, Expedia.com, and whatever other sites I can find, and the local travel centers in Pidgeon Forge and Gatlinburg and Sevierville and put reviews out. This is all about them not trying to give us a refund, this is an outright lie….. It was not even clean form the people that stayed there before us. It is a rat or Racoon infested cabin, do not know which but something is running around the inside of that house. We Could hear it at night, when were trying to sleep. Please respond and let me know what is being done with the refund. If they decide not to give it to us, it is a shame, that you and your company allow this to happen to customers.
