Matan Dahan AKA Martin Dahan is the "owner" and operator of part of a large-scale garage door repair scam operation all across north eastern Illinois. His self-titled company Martin Garage Door has several locations listed on Google Maps but he also manages multiple other Google Maps company locations all over Illinois.

Matan and his associate’s setup numerous google maps locations many of which are not a physical address of a business at all but are typically homes of friends, abandoned buildings, or anyone/anywhere he can get to provide him with the google maps verification code so he can setup another location. Martin then hires companies that populate the locations with fake google and yelp reviews giving them the appearance that they are reputable companies.

Martin and his associates take advantage of people in duress that need immediate garage door repair by quoting services over the phone at an affordable rate then drastically increasing the price of the services once they’re at the location. This in combination with hiring garage door “technicians” that are unlicensed and untrained. Many of the services these companies offer are priced at almost double what the industry standard rate would be especially when they’re contacted for emergency service.

They manage many locations that all ring the same phones and when the information is sent to the “technicians” it is sent with the company name the employee is supposed to tell the customer they’re representing. The technicians never provide invoices or receipts as the company name is always different which makes it difficult to leave bad reviews and alert others of the scam. When a location gets bad reviews alerting people of the scam Matan simply starts a new one, populates it with more fake reviews and the scam beings all over again.
