Around Thanksgiving, I scheduled my 20k mile servicing for my 2024 Infiniti QX60. I’d requested a loaner vehicle because I live more than an hour away from the dealership. Days before my scheduled appointment I called Matt Bowers to confirm the availability of a loaner. This consumed the better part of two days! I was initially told I didn’t have an appointment for servicing. After making approximately 16 calls over two days, leaving countless messages, extended hold times and being hung up on twice, the dealership confirmed my appointment and the availability of a loaner vehicle. I dropped my vehicle off for an oil change and conveyed issues that should have been covered by my warranty.
The knob that controls the temperature is SOMETIMES hard to turn. The driver’s side front seat heater has never worked and the leather is torn but ONLY at the seams. Ronnie Fernandez in service told be they’d had a few 2024 QX60’s come back in with similar issues - More specifically, the temperature dial getting stuck and the entire panel having to be replaced. I’d already researched the leather situation and found it was a common defect in the QX60. After them keeping my vehicle for a week and maybe a day or two, I called the dealership and was told the splitting leather seam was due to wear and tear. I want to know how ONLY the seam can endure wear and tear???
I was also told the heater issue was due to wear and tear!! It’s NEVER worked. The vehicle was purchased brand new from Matt Bowers in February of 2024. I didn’t have an occasion to use the heated seats until the first cold spell this year. I was also told that the malfunctioning knob was due to a spill! Had something spilled into the AC panel, the entire panel would have been affected, not JUST the knob that controls the temperature! Also, if something sticky were behind the knob, it would be consistently hard to turn, not intermittently. Sometimes it won’t turn AT ALL. Other times it glides like butter. I called Infiniti directly and they reached out to Ronnie. The Infiniti rep conveyed this issues were determined to be wear and tear. Infiniti did not offer to have another dealership take a look at it. They offered zero resolution and when I mentioned having our attorney take a look at things she said, "I will have to mail YOU a letter of representation!!!” What a moron. This is my 5th Infiniti and will be my last. I’d purchased from Ray Brandt previously and could not have been more pleased. I’d grown accustomed to dropping my car off dirty and picking it up like new.
This time, it may have actually been dirty when I picked it up. The Infiniti rep said, "That’s because you live on a farm!” No… It’s because your service team is LAZY! Save yourself the headache… Go with Lexus, Acura, BMW, Mercedes… If I wanted to be treated like a Ford customer, I would have bought a Ford Fiesta.
