These people were retained in an effort to collect a debt related to electric, gas, and water utilities for an apartment rental that failed for this and other reasons in Fortitude Valley Queensland Australia.

Overall and in summary the State of Queensland does not allow for billing of water usage to tenants in apartments.

The form I signed at move in said just that.

Since they did bill the water usage, that is illegal and renders the debt a crime as are efforts to collect (steal) the money.

Beyond that and for other reasons the owner/managers of the apartments failed to perform as the unit was not habitable.

During the course of learning this I also learned that the electric utilities are not metered at all and the numbers billed for usage are in fact, fabricated in total.

The unit sat empty for over one month when I was forced to vacate as it was not habitable and they refused to fix it, and for that month with all power off in the unit, I was billed over $100 most of which was for electric power usage.

The actual usage is zero. Hence a fraud.

So with that, those doing the billing, and this agent, as well as management/owners of the units are complicit, since they would all know that there is no way to meter the usage and by that bill it.

"Your pre-approved payment arrangement offer is valid until..."

As if this is already decided, and that I am "paying for something..."

This is called theft and extortion. Both are felonies.

So now we suggest that this is somehow my fault and this is punishment etc.

With that these people send emails and make phone calls wanting me to pay them for nothing.

These people are entirely disreputable, I'd never pay them even if you did owe the debt.
