Thryv inc. Yext Deceptive sales tactics and renewed service that had already been canceled. Refused to cancel. Called on phone to complained and was placed on hold for over fourty minutes. Deer Park New York

In September of 2019 I hired a company called Yext to update our business listing on citation sites across the internet. I was told that it would take a few moths so they offered me a six month program that would make sure they had enough time to fix them all. I was very adamnt that I only wanted the service for this one time fix and the representative assured me that the six month they signed me up for would be enough. Well, I had tried to contact them several times because some of the citation sites were not being updated, so I updated them myself. Most of the sites were updated so I was satisfied with their service for the most part.

Low and behold today I receive an email with an invoice for $365.30 stating they received my pament as an automatic renewal. I called them on the phone and now it's not Yext but another company called Thryv Inc. After talking to two different representatives I'm transferred to someone who tells me they are providing services for me that have automatically renewd because I never canceled. I was never notified that I would be billed again and I told him so.

He was very rude and told me that there was nothing he could do about it. I asked him what services they were providing for me and he didn't even know, but he did know that he would not reverse the payment and didn't care that our business was alredy closed due to the Covid-19 virus. When I told him his company billing me at this time would cause my payrole to bounce and my employees would not get paid he said, "Thats not my problem." Wow, at the very least they could have sent me an email saying that the service was going to expire and that if I didn't contact them that they would renew. 

I know I crearly told the Yext representative that I first spoke with that I only want the service for a one time Fix.

I tried contacting the original company (Yext) and low and behold it takes me right to Thryv again. It seems Yext is just a front company that they use.

I am contacting my bank not to dispute the charges.

You would think that in this situation where we are already closed because of the Covid-19 virus and the fact that their charges will cause our payroll to bounce would cause some compassion but no, it did not. I know New York State does not allow for renewal of contracts without notification. I know this because I use contracts with my customers too. I'm hoping that the bank can give me some options as I really wan't my employees to be paid.
