FRAUD Alert, if you want your stuff stolen, damaged or even held ransom, then please go ahead and hire these crooks.TRUCKS ON CALL will send you an initial quote for the WEIGHT of your stuff and on the day of your move (after packing your stuff and loading in the truck) increase or double it claiming that it takes too much space.

They will then hold your stuff random until you pay in cash - which seems shady as that shows proof of 'creative' accounting practices. They damaged alot of our items, lost a box, and broke many items (we hired a full pack so the movers packed everything)

When you file the claim with their insurance company, they reject it or offer you pennies.
I also believe they hire illegal immigrants - our movers didnt speak any english and freaked out when we threatened to call the cops.

TRUCKS ON CALL will send you an initial quote for the WEIGHT of your stuff and on the day of your move (after packing your stuff and loading in the truck) increase or double it claiming that it takes too much space.  That sentence alone makes no sense.  If the price doubled because it takes too much space, then it took too many cubic feet.  Volume (cubic feet) and Pounds (weight) are not the same thing.  A 20lb. bowling ball and a 20 lb. weight both weigh 20lbs.  It takes the same amount of fuel to move 20lbs.  However, you were probably quoted in cubic feet and the actual space in the truck went over.

In addition, you would never know the real price of the move or how much your stuff weighed until the truck was weighed at a weigh station prior to the move, and then after the truck was loaded.  As a result, there is no way for them to quote you the weight of the move once the truck is loaded.  So, no you were not quoted in weight.  You were quoted in cubic feet.

In addition, the initial quote is not binding on anyone - including you.  Moving contracts are done in writing, so whatever it took to load the truck - that's the price.  Whatever they told you over the phone is worthless.

They will then hold your stuff random until you pay in cash - which seems shady as that shows proof of 'creative' accounting practices.  The reason you pay cash is because they don't want you writing a bounced check, and you probably would bounce the check.  The only leverage they have is your stuff, so you have to pay cash.  And no, that isn't considered holding your goods hostage or paying ransom according to the law.  You agreed to pay in cash upon delivery, so how could it be considered ransom if you agreed to pay cash in the first place?  Please...no more opinions.

When you file the claim with their insurance company, they reject it or offer you pennies.  You don't have insurance - you have what is called valuation.  You were paid at $0.60 per pound for your claim, and yes it's peanuts.  Legitimate movers offer Full Replacement Valuation, or FRV, which works more like insurance, but isn't.

I also believe they hire illegal immigrants - our movers didnt speak any english and freaked out when we threatened to call the cops.  Here we go with your silly opinions again.  Do you racial profile much?  I suspect you couldn't afford the move if you had to hire white people.  BTW, why would you call the police?  The police can't do anything either to the immigrant or to the company.  Perhaps if you don't like the immigrants speaking Spanish, you can at least try to learn Spanish - after all, you are in Texas.  Now, were you expecting the police to help unload the truck?  The police handle criminal complaints.  You have yet to describe anything in your complaint that would be considered criminal.  The police will tell you this is a civil matter between you and the mover and then leave.

I am not advocating that people should use this mover.  I am writing because this person still has no idea what moving from one place to another entails.  It means research.  It means staying off the internet to find a mover.  It means the only thing you should be concerned about is your stuff, and not sharing with us how racist you are.  I mean moving companies are bad, but you suck as a person.
