I ordered from Washer Fariy's ad "Buy 1 get 7 free; $19.97". (These are little ceramic balls that are supposed to replace laundry detergent. They're most likely made in China for 25 cents each, so getting 7 free they'd still be making a profit.) They charged my card $159.76, which is 8 x $19.97.

I immediately emailed their support team, explaining the overcharge and offering several solutions including fixing the charge to the proper price and refunding the whole amount and sending no product. It took 3 days to get an email saying "Your email has been received and will be replied to in 48 hours" (their ad promised 24 hr replies).

After several email rounds, support didn't offer me a reasonable solution so I called my credit card company and had them charge back the $159.76. The next day I got a phone call from Washer Fairy saying they were going to fix the credit card charge and send me the 8 items if I would remove the charge back. I really wanted the items and, what a sucker, I fell for their game and had the charge back removed.

They then sent me ONE Washer Fairy and didn't fix the credit card charge. I had allowed reasonable time for the refund to get credited to my card. After a week, it was apparent that they were not going to honor their promise, so I called my credit card company and asked to have the item charged back again.

The credit card company said that since I had removed the charge back once, I would have to request it in writing using a form they would send to me. By the time I got the form, even though I filled it out immediately and mailed it back to them, they replied that it had been too long since the initial credit card sale to do a charge back.

Washer Fairy counted on this, which is why they kept delaying by not answering emails right away, delaying with phone calls and convincing me to remove the charge back.
