I placed an order on March 9th for flowers to be delivered on March 14th. On March 12th, I contacted customer service and asked for this delivery to be “modified” and sent on Monday, March 13th instead due to significant snowfall in the forecast for March 14th. I promptly received confirmation via email that this change has been made and the flowers would be delivered on Monday, March 13th as requested.
As of the afternoon of the 13th, the delivery had not arrived so I again contacted your company. I received a series of repetitious “form” emails not addressing my concern with regards the revised delivery date. Each time, I’d respond to the email restating my concern, only to have another “sales and service specialist” reply with the same rethoric. After it was apparent that no one was actually taking the time to even read my emails regarding the aforementioned, I advised that I would like to CANCEL the order and asked they CONFIRM a refund to my credit card. No such acknowledgment has been provided. They simply ignore this request and continue to send a “form” email indicating the order will be delivered on March 15th.
At this point, I am done with 1-800-flowers. The service has really diminished in recent years and most of my staff chooses to call and order from a local florist instead of risking yet another screw-up with 1-800-flowers. I recently had an issue with a Valentine’s Day delivery and vowed to never use your service again. I was traveling this past weekend and I opted to give it another shot. To my amazement, your company screwed up again!
On Valentine's Day they delivered DEAD flowers. It was astonishing that a company in the business to sell flowers would deliver dead, wilted flowers for any occassion, none the less Valentines Day! Absoluteliy inexcusable. I contacted them about this issue. 1-800-Flowers JUST DOES NOT CARE.
I would avoid using them at all costs. Their quality control with the florists they use is lacking and their customers service is horrible. They advertise their "Smile Guaratee" which is an advertsing scam. You would think delivering flowers should be fairly simple but not for 1-800-Flowers.com. I spoke to a local florist and was advised this is common with 1-800-flowers arrangements and deliveries. Reputable florists are know longer using 1-800-flowers because there are so many issues with this company.
Lesson learned. Avaoid the temptation of 1-800-Flowers.com and stick with supporting the local florist if you care about what you are sending. 1-800-Flowers simply does not care that they ruin many special occassions of people fooled in believing they care.
