I am making this report as a warning to DJs bands and other performers who may not be aware that Scott Sorensen who was responsible for failing to pay a large number of his staff while running the now defunct Starlight agency is once again working as an entertainment agent using the name 33 Music Group.

 

Sorensen has a lot of history invloving ripping off bands and DJs with Starlight, with his then business partner Trevor Woodward. The reports regarding his activities at Starlight are available for review on this website. He was threatened with legal action from a group of bands for failing to pay them. The Starlight office was abandoned and the website closed down. Sorensen left the UAE and set up in the USA as 33 Music Group.

 

Already several DJs have complained about late payments, changes to contractual terms that were agreed with Sorensen and in some cases total failure to make payments altogether.

 

Please be aware that this is the same guy who left bands with no money, thousands of miles away from their home countries. I would strongly advise anyone not to work for him. If you take 5 minutes to do some research you can easily see all of his history with Starlight.

 

Don't trust him at all - he's a serial conman and cheat. He's stolen tens of thousands of dollars from hard working musicians - He may have a new name, but he's upto his old tricks again.

In my dealings as a DJ with 33 Music Group and Scott I have never had any issues, only positive feedback to report. I worked for Scott in Abu Dhabi as a resident DJ for a major hotel chain and Scott was always on hand to help with any issues between myself and the venue. Also, I may add, payments were always prompt and on time. I would happily work with Scott again, and I would discourage having any doubts from potential artists or venues consiodering working with Scott and 33 Music Group.

Hi All, for now I had one contract with Scott, and I have good impression about it. Everything went well, everything we disscuss  in contract was done perfectly. Also I recomended my friends to work with him, they done more contracts,and they happy to work with him. And I know people who working for years with him. They aslo leaved comments here. Seems like some competitors trying to bring down reputation of the company. Don't belive everything you read.

Yeah, he is banned from the UAE because of his business practises. It's all good getting his staff to come to his rescue but getting banned from a country speaks for itself really. The guy is a crook, always has been, always will be. Nothing else to add.

I know Scott and working with him for 12 years. I never experience any money issues working with him. Getting paid late is a normal situation in UAE,because the hotels  pay the money many times late. I also worked in UAE as freelancer and u must wait for your money for weeks sometimes months. When the musicians work for a agent, they got someone to blame som for getting paid late. The history about STARLIGHT ,Wich was not true ,will always be there . 33Musicgroup is a great company and Scott moving forward  to keep musicians working and make the ire dreams come true. The person ,responsible for this negative accusations ,pleae move on and focus on your own business. There are great friends and musicians behind Scott that support and their families that pray for him.

I have worked with Scott over the years and found the company to be honest and very professional. Everything that was agreed in the contract was 100% delivered. I have never had any problems getting paid, in fact the opposite, they would be calling and messaging me asking me to send bank or payment details.

I have never had to pursue payment. I worked with this company as recently as New Years Eve and I would be more than happy to work with the 33 Music Group again.

This post was brought to my attention today and i find it so disgusting that i feel i have to comment. I am the regional director for a major international hotel chain. Scott and 33 Music Group look after the entertainment for 14 of our hotles in Asia and the Middle East. All of the entertainers are world class and the sevices povided by Scott and his team at 33 Music Group are very reputable amongst my hotel colegues.

I can un deniably recommend 33 Music Group to any International hotel client looking for quality entertainment services.

Being in the industry for over 22 years, i know the issues that can arise with entertainers. It is writen in every hotel contract that if the entertainer breaches their contract that the hotel will reclaim the costs of flights, visas and other expenses that were the original responsibility  of the hotel. Time and time again we have had to del with issues with entertainers, and this is where a reputable agent comes in. I truly believe that Scott and 33 Music Group are fair for all parties and from the many acts our hotels have booked ove the years from Scott, we have alwats had a professional outcome.

This post is an obvious attempt to hurt a good and kind huiman being who does a great job for us hoteliers and the musicians of the world. Speak to Scott, Spak to his hotel clients and speak to his artists and you can make up your own mind. We will continue to use the services of 33 Music group for the unforseeable future.

I just came across this report and felt like i had to comment. What a load of nonsense and a disgusting gutless act. I have worked with Scott for 8 years and an currently working at a 5 star hotel in Duabi for 33 Music Group. Scott is the most caring and priofesional agent a musician could ever dream of. I have dealt with many agents including his ex partner and i can 100% guarrantee anymusician in the world that they are in great hands wth scott and his team of agents at 33 Music Group. At one stage a hotel was 3 weeks late paying our salaty, Scott paid us out of his own pocket as he knew we were desperate for the money. You can find all his artists easilly on his facebook page. I have been working in DUABI for 10 years and every musician i know has the utmost respect for him and his amazing comapny. It is sos sad that some gutless no name person would try and hurt such a nice person... I wish we could all just love each other and live in peace.

 Scott Sorensen of 33 Music Group is the kindest most genuine agent I have ever had the privilege of working with and the false claims LoudandProud makes in this report are in fact the real ripoff. Scott represented me on contract in China in 2015. It is his support and great care that got me through a very difficult and unjust predicament. Scott did his utmost to ensure I received payment and actually provided a lot more financially than what was expected contractually - just to make sure I came out of the situation better off. I'd be happy to discuss my experiences with 33 Music Group in further detail if anyone is second guessing working with Scott. He stands by his word, every time and truly looks after his artists.

I am very surprised to see this report as I have worked we Scott for many years in the Middle East with both Starlight and now 33 music and have found him to be a decent guy who always stood up for his artists. Me and my band always got paid in reasonable time and only once we were delayed due to the hotel not paying Scott. I think the person who wrote this report is a disgruntled employee or someone starting up there own music agent company. Either way its a load of bull.

This's not true and anyone who knows scott knows this is a disgraceful lie.I'm one of the DJs that work with Scott and I'm part of the 33 Music Group family, Scott helped me professionally and personally at a really bad part of my life, now I'm living a dream here in Doha without any of these problems that you mention here guys!!!  I'm yet another performer who has previously worked with Scott Sorensen. He has always been very fair, and transparent with me. I received every penny that I was promised. There were a few times that THE HOTEL was a bit late on payments, but any experienced hotel performer knows this happens from time to time. My experience working with him was very positive. I would advise any entertainer considering being represented by Scott Sorensen to have a chat with him, and make your decision based on own gut instinct. There has to be a mutual respect and comfort on both the entertainer and the agents side. When we accept a contracts, our agents are taking just as much risk on us as we are on them. If it feels right, do it! If it feels wrong, don't. Don't half heartedly accept a contract and be constantly looking for flaws. Also, don't judge before knowing all sides of the story. Love eachother!

Don`t believe everything you read

I know Scott Sorensen and 33 Music group for over a year now. I`ve been working through the agency as a musician and never did have problems with the agency regarding payments, incorrect information, lack of agency support throughout my gigs etc. On the contrary, the agency is really helpful and supportive, not every single time overdue my requests and always stays in touch.

At the first time before I started to work for 33 Music Group I read that many musicians was being ripped off by this agency but I couldn`t actually find real people who lost their money because of the agency. I have contacted dozen of people who was working for Mr Sorensen and all of them didn`t tell me any bad things about him or his agency. 

I tell everybody who is reading this now - don`t believe everything you read, you can contact Mr Sorensen or 33 Music Group or any musician who is working through the agency and get correct information from real people.

I don`t know who is standing behind this report but this person is hiding his real name and trying to show you some facts but not the whole picture.

 I would like to say used starlight and 33 as an agent since 2006 and I have been doing contracts since 2003. I have worked in Asia, Middle East and cruises out of USA The late payment issue is common no matter what agent you work for because it's actually the hotels fault not the agents. The measured up site quote that is in this complaint is very old and was actually due to the musicians fault. The hotel then chose to excute the clause in contract regarding forfeit of pay and the musicians have no choice but to blame the agent. I've seen this happen to other agents as well In my 10 year experience with 33/starlight I've never had a major issue and issues that did arise were handled professionally. I even had equipment wreck because of hotel negligence and was represented above and beyond by 33/starlight At the end of the day there's always 2 sides of the story and it's a shame that something like this can be thrown out so openly before the other party has a chance to respond.

 I have been working with Scott and the team for the last 6 months. Being new to the world of long term contracts, I was very nervous about the whole process of starting a long contract with somebody I had never met in person before! However, Scott and his team were so reassuring at all times, and really made me comfortable with everything. I believe this complaint that has been filed, is a huge hoax, and I think it is disgusting that somebody would write something like that about Scott and his team. I've just finished 6 months of contract work and I am so thankful to Scott and the company for helping me find work. 33 music group are an honest, fair and super caring to their artists!

 After reading this report I just had to respond,I have been working with the 33 Music Group family(Scott Sorensen)for a while now and it has only been,for lack of a better word Freaking awesome. From the moment I started working with the 33 Music Group family i have been taken care of, I am working for a 5.star Hotel currently Thanks to 33 Music Group(Scott)and I can tell you it's been nothing but professional. I have great accommodation,working with great people and earning a good salary that's being Paid on time every month without fail and every contract agreement is being met. From my experience working with Scott,it's clear that he understands artists his flexible and always response when called upon(we all know how hard it is getting that from an Agent) This is my experience with him and we all are entitled to our opinion but I recommend any Artist to work with 33 Music Group.

 Dear Loud and Proud? Thank you for taking the time to write this report and seeing as you seem to have put so much effort into it I will give you the right of reply, using my real name! These comments are completely false and nothing more than a desperate which hunt at an attempt to try and hurt someone and a business that does a lot of good to a lot of people's lives. The logic in this situation Is surely enough to clarify these false statements. We look after the entertainment for over 55 hotels world wide and currently have 88 entertainers working in hotels and cruise ships around the world. If we ran a dishonest company the worlds biggest Brands such as Ritz Carlton, Hyatt, HILTON, Shangri LA, Interdontinental, Dusit and St Regus would not consistently use our company and make our company their first point of call for entertainment matters. The Internet is a wonderful thing however, sometimes it can be used by not so savory people to try and damage good people who can write false statements without even supplying a name. Anyone can go on a site like this and write whatever they want without even using a real name and leaving no contact. This can be a competitor, a disgruntled employee, someone with mental issues or an ex girlfriend. People should pay no attention to these kind of things and instead ask real people with real stories, and we are more than happy to give these contacts. Our company has the goodwill of all artists at the core of our business and anyone interested can easily contact us through Facebook or email and we can give you a list of 150 artists who work with 33 music group and you can contact real artists, With real stories at any time. 33 music groups business philosophy is to help not only musicians with amazing jobs around the world but to also assist those less fortunate than ourselves. We have taken a pledge to sponsor a child in a 3rd world country through world vision for every hotel contract we do. Over the last few years 33 music has sponsored many children around the world which has affected the lives of thousands of people around the world, and we wil continue to do so. As far as being called a conman, I would suggest that the only con would be someone using a low level forum like this to try and damage someone! We are completely transparent, our clients our artists are all there on our Facebook pages for the world to see. In closing, 33 Music Group has an outstanding reputation and pays every single artist every single time, even further than that we regularly pay artists in advance when hotels pay late, we cover ticket costs from our own pockets and we strive to do anything we can to make the lives of our artists better.
