This person was sent to me by my home warranty company, so I trusted him.    My a/c had quit working and was only blowing warm air.  He came out and said that it needed an "acid wash" and that was not covered by my policy.   (OF COURSE!!!)  So I told him to do whatever was necessary because we have to have the a/c.

After he "fixed" the unit - he asked me if I wanted him to do preventative maintenance on the second unit (which was working fine).   His charge for the first unit was $400 and he wanted $300 for the second unit.   I thought that was a good idea, since I wanted to be sure the second unit was working.  I just purchased this house 2 weeks ago.    When he finished, he presented me with a bill for $700.   I took out my credit card and he said "I don't take credit cards."    WHAT???  Wouldn't you think this guy would say that right from the beginning??   He wanted CASH!   Who keeps $700 in cash in their house??   He wanted me to wire him money from my checking acount via Western Union.   That didn't work.   Then he gave me some other way to wire money - that didn't work.   Then he said he would follow me to the ATM and I could withdraw the cash.   *That's an automatic RED FLAG - but this guy was sent by my home warranty company - so I figured he wasn't going to rob me.... HA!   I went to the ATM and got $400 which is my limit.   He said he would meet me the next morning at 9:00 so he could get the rest.

The next morning, I paid him the $300 additional and told him my first a/c unit still wasn't working and my seond unit that he did "Preventative Maintenance" on also quit.    He said he would call the Home Warranty company and request 2 new units.   That was 9:00 am.   By 4 p.m., I didn't hear anything so I called him.   He said he tried calling them but they put him on hold, so he hung up.   That was SEVEN HOURS AGO!   He asked me if I wanted him to try again!!!   He said he would get right back to me.   By 7:30 p.m. I called him again.   He said he got put on hold again, so he hung up.

He NEVER got in touch with the company!!  I texted him at 10:30 PM and have never heard from him again.   He took my $700 - he sabotaged both of my a/c units - and neither I nor the home warranty company has heard from him.   He won't answer their calls.   RIP OFF - SCAM!!
