AAmco Transmission ripoff overpriced shoddy repair consumer fraud ripoff Bronx New York

ANTONIO~~~~It sounds like the SELL continues~~~~~~by the way~~~~ipc is the maker of the seals for ford and the aftermaket~~~~borg warner/raybestos make the the friction plates for ford and the aftermarket~~~~~in the factory remans Ford (contractors) these are done by contract (bid) for ford but they put a ford sticker on em~~~~~~The converters are contract also~~~~~by the way antonio; if you unit cost for a reman 1200.00 was this a (atx) 3 speed or a (eat) 4 spd~~~~~by the way antonio~~~~~if the problem was metal in the oil that stuck valves to cause the irratic shifting~~~~~the problem was most likely contamination~~~~This happens on a rebuild due to the cooler not beng flushed properly and contaminants left in the system~~~~when the unit is filled with fresh oil and heats up these contaminants are released into the system to cause the valves to stick~~~~~~~(eventually the unit fails in about the time this failed) ~~~unless the converter is making noise on inital takeoff (which generates metal) this story sounds like theres SNOW falling in the bronx in june~~~~~~ASK TO SEE THE INVOICE FROM FORD/GM/MOPAR for the (FACTORY) parts they have used on all the rebuilds recently~~~~~~I'm sure they don't have them anymore to show you~~~~~~~Unless you believe SNOW falls in june in the bronx~~~~~~~~~~THE TRANZMN

Got a call From Howard today (Bronx location) and was told that the car was ready to be picked up at my earliest convenience at the Virginia location. The problem was found to be a faulty Torque converter.

We went on to discuss the price of the repair. I was told that Aamco (his shop) only uses new factory original replacement parts, not aftermarket or reconditioned parts.Factory parts always cost alot more.

As a mechanic myself I could agree that in some instances new parts built to factory specs are a far better investment in cost per mile vs wear. Basically factory parts are built to higher tolerances and last longer.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Howard Bx location, Aamco corporate, And the fellas down at the Virginia location for their help and interest in correcting this situation.

My Apologies to all parties, reading others stories can put fear into anyone and cause em to jump the gun. By the way, Aamco Corporate, keep up your efforts to weed out the bad apples. They are the one that cause the creation of this forum.

Thats what happened here~~~~~~This is why in California we have the B.A.R.~~~~~the problem now is how to get it fixed properly so you back to square one~~~~In Calif. if you are not confident in the repair facility you can take it to another place an have it redone an charge it back to the original shop~~~~but remember since you are a state guy~~~DOCUMENT EVERYTHING!! if you give me the year i can furnish you with the pressure specz for the unit~~~~so this will be less likely to happen unless its assembled improperly then it doesn't matter how good the pressures are~~~~~itz kinda like a EGR valve system~~~~when its no good you lose vacuum~~~~but its all hydraulic~~~~same kinda idea with a different media~~~~~~`i would be happy to guide you along on this one~~~~~~~THE TRANZMN~~~~~~BY THE WAY ```i am a ford certified transmission technician~~~~~
