ABC Financial ripoff San Diego California

My husband David is in the Navy, about a month ago i was checking our credit report. There was something on his credit report we didnt recognize. It was a company called ABC Financial, on the report it stated he owed them $2,546. I called the number listed and talked to a lady that was very rude, she stated that my husband had took a loan out back on Sept. 16th 2001. My husband had just came back from his 6 month WesPac, on Sept. 15th and he flew home the afternoon of Sept 16th. I told her there would be know way he could have took this loan out, she got ugle and said well he will have to take it up with the Credit Bureau, untill then he will owe it. I called back and asked her for more info on this company and she stated that they wouldnt have any of our info, they turned it over to her company a long time ago. I finally looked up ABC Financial on yahoo search and found this site, we tried calling the number listed and it was discounted. So we looked the addresse up on yellow pages, it had a different number to call and that was discounted too. My husband did say that when he got back he remembers this company trying to give him a free camera.. We never recieved the camara or any info from this company after that. Untill i called last month to the company that ABC Financial turned it over to, i never recieved any info in the last 4 years and 5 months since then... The company has called us and harrassed us and know she is sending letters to us. I dont think its right, we cant get a hold of ABC Finacial to get this resolved and taken off our credit...
