I went in for an interview last Wednesday and was interviewed by the manager of the site. She originally told me that she could not interview me at all and that a recrewter had to come in. She also originally told me that they only do Interviews on Thursdays. I informed them that I could not do Thursdays because it is one of the only days I currently work with my current Family. My current family has gone to an alternative work hours and it has cut my hours an pay to three days a week. The Manager and I went back and forth with this situation for a few weeks and all of a sudden a Wednesday interview came up. I never met the recrewter when I interviewed. Because I didn't have three current references and because I worked for one family for nine years and didn't bounce around to several families in a short time she said I didn't have enough references or experience. I also had worked in two different day cared for 18 months each in my twenties. The people I would get references from are no longer there and I lost contact with them. I had two references one from the 9 year family and one from a former single father that i worked for short term for 5 months whom moved and I didn't have further contact info for. But I had a very nice written reference from him. However because they couldn't confirm the single Dad's info they told me it didn't count. They also told me that because I took a year off to go back to school that it was inconsistent work. Then I didn't work from January of 2012- Sep 2012 because I move back to pa from NJ. I was looking for the write family and the right amount of pay that would meet my needs. I wanted a long term position like I had for 9 years. I didn't want to just pick any family or settle. So I cleaned houses and did part time nannying for my neighbor over the summer. I was also told this was inconsistent and does not count. The manager was down right rude and no where near professional. She said that I would not be a good Nanny to represent the company and that They could not help me in anyway. The manager said that parents would not look highly on the inconsistent of my work.

Ok so I said my loyalty, longevity, and stubility for a family that I Worked for for nine years means nothing? She said well other nannies here have several references in a nine year period from several families. I then said Ok and I your point is? She said well because you don't have three references from several families we can't help you. Well I went on Facebook and I ask parents for their response and on the situation. My question was Would you want a nanny with many references or a nanny whom gave 9 years of her time a devoted her life to the family and watching them grow up, I gave the family and children stability. Everyone said the 9 year nanny.

So with all this being said I was descrimanted against because she herself the manager of ABC Nanny Sorce said "I don't think". She said this many times. I said let's see what the parents think? She said no I won't work with you and we can't help you.!! Well discrimination is written all over this. Plus after this interview I talked with a nanny I know and she had gone to them and they said to her she had to many references. What the heck!! What do they want??  I have been a nanny for more them 10 plus years and this company does not represent themselves as they advertise. I want the company owners to know that this manageris so bad with representing the company. I will not recommend this company.  In fact I will let other nannies know and other families know never to use them. They are not at all helpfull.
