I am a certified Firefighter/Paramedic here in the state of Florida.  My American Heart Association ACLS certification was set to expire at the end of November, 2012, so I needed to renew.  Before I paid $175 and took the course with this service, I called and spoke to someone for verification.  They assured me that this was an American Heart Association accredited facility and that American Heart Association guidelines were used.  They also assured me that the card I would be receiving would be accepted by the Fire Departments I would be applying to, here in the state of Florida, but it is not!  This card is of absolutely no use to me since Departments will not accept it, and it is not a valid American Heart Association ACLS card.  This "company" is trying to keep my money.

As soon as I found this out, I immediately contacted the company, but no one ever answered.  Instead the phone would ring a few times and go to voicemail.  Someone would then call back from a completely different area code number (most likely a cell phone), but they would say I would have to submit an email because they couldn't help me.  After submitting multiple emails to their "administration department", they just told me they wouldn't refund my money because I had already taken the course.  I am not disputing that I took the course;  I am disputing the fact that they falsely advertised themselves as an American Heart Association accredited company, and I was not given the proper certification that I earned and was assured.

I am definitely expecting this "company" to refund me the $175 that I paid to them thinking that this was a legitimate ACLS re-certification process, but this has not happened yet!  What they are doing is wrong and is a scam.  I am taking the necessary steps to hopefully ensure that others do not get misled by them in the future.
